Steps to reproduce:
Open two different windows within Orion, and it seems that there is not an option to merge the two.

Expected behavior:
It would be nice to have the option to merge the two windows similar to that in Safari.

This is what the option looks like within Safari:

Came here to write this. I'd add, this isn't just an option in Safari, it's an option in nearly all first-party and Mac-native apps on the Mac that use tabs.

bouncing Does this affect only temporary windows or it would affect saved windows? If the latter, would it affect closed saved windows?

Vlad I guess either option? I honestly haven't gotten super-into the named tab group feature; I mostly just have separate windows to facilitate context switching. Then sometimes I want to regroup them all?

Please think about it and write a complete spec for how you'd like the feature to behave. Don't make us think 😉

Merge All Windows option can merge all tabs in all windows of same type.

Vlad ie. All Normal windows merged in one, All private windows merged in one, all saved windows merged in one, and if there is any other window type then same for it too.

joystmp Can you verify what happens in Safari between 2+ normal windows, tab groups and private windows?

Vlad I tested 2+ normal windows and private windows. It does as I suggested earlier.

I don't know how to test tab groups, so someone else will have to chime in.

                  • Vlad replied to this.

joystmp Safari does not merge tab groups, so saved windows would remain intact.

Vlad changed the title to Add the "Merge All Windows" option .
