In Firefox about:preferences#privacy, under Cookies and Site Data heading, you'll find Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed with Manage Exceptions beside it.

Also, in about:preferences#privacy, under History heading, you'll find Clear history when Firefox closes with Settings beside it.

However, the second option is more comprehensive and since it also allows clearing cookies on exit, it subsumes the first one. I am not sure why Firefox has both option though.

      Fortrikka There are a few issues with incognito

      1. It's not actually a window, rather a tab (i.e. cookies are restricted to individual tab and not entire window)
      2. It is fingerprintable

          joystmp How is the fingerprintability of incognito tabs different from regular tabs wherein you delete all data on exit? Perhaps incognito mode with shared cookies for tabs?

              Because apart from all data points (from regular tab), incognito is an added data point.

              What Orion does now is what Safari also does.

                  joystmp I get your sentiment. Then it should be added somehow to the preferences as an option. It should be quite simple to implement, simply delete the desired areas such as cookies, history, or bookmarks each time the browser is quit. It has already been implemented although it has to be done manually, so now what needs to be done is just for it to be done automatically every single the browser quits.

                                  I don't have screenshot for this. Basically what I understand is that, suppose by default, camera is disabled for all websites except one. So clearing Site settings would also delete this exception, else it will persist across sessions.

                                  You already have Websites window in preferences where site specific settings are saved.

                                  In that case, have a look at this extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookie-autodelete/ I do not know how much it is functional in Orion.

                                      This allows a single setting to be toggled (usually on/off) per site. In this case the user may want different settings for auto-delete on quit per website?

                                                  This option looks like this:

                                                  I like it because Firefox will automatically clear cookies, cache, third-party data of the first-party site, etc. of all websites once I close it. I can add websites I want to allowlist under Manage Exceptions.

                                                  That way, I don't have to constantly re-login back into sites I use every day, while deleting less frequented site data.

                                                    • This would be classified as a privacy feature and is something already implemented in Chromium and Firefox.
                                                    • In a similar way to allowing exceptions to cookie usage, exceptions should be able to be created for not clearing cookies and site data on close.
                                                      • The ability to add exceptions in the website settings menu would be extremely convenient and would be a major UX improvement over other browsers.
                                                    • This functionality provides more convenience over simply disabling cookies and allowing exceptions.
                                                    • Such functionality is recommended by PrivacyGuides.org in their browser hardening guide.

                                                    I personally require this feature in any browser and is the primary reason I do not use Safari.

                                                        @Vlad I posted this comment, but then it shows me as [deleted] website was glitched, it didn't load at first. Now it's fine.
