  • I noticed while a site is still loading, interacting with the navigation isn't possible.

    To Reproduce:

    1. Type in a slow loading URL
    2. While the site is still loading try to access tabs

I would like to interact with the navigation while a site is still loading.

This is especially useful in the following circumstances:

    • Site may refuse to load
    • Network issues
    • Performance issues
    • User would like to visit a different site while the site is loading

    1.3.20 (1) (WebKit 8619.1.26.30.5)

    18

    • Steps to reproduce:
Bookmarks randomly change Favicons when bookmarks are added or Orion has been restarted. I do organize bookmarks in folders. 7 out of 10 bookmarks do use the same Favicons e.g. Amazon Icon for Pinterest, Soundcloud, Webmail and so on. It changes completely when new bookmarks are added. It is a total mix up and crazy to stay focus. This is such an annoying bug.

When I set the Bookmarks bar to Text only it still shows the Favicon next to the title. Also, resetting the Browser Cache does not solve the issue.

      Expected behavior:
Show the correct Favicon for every site.

      • I am a brand new Orion user. Bookmarks are essential for me. It looks like the Bookmark implementation is still in an early stage and really buggy. Deleted bookmarks and folder still show up in the bookmark bar.

        Steps to reproduce:

        1. Add any bookmark e.g. orionfeedback.org or Bookmark folder
        2. Delete the bookmark/folder from the sidebar or bookmarks window
        3. orionfeedback.org remains in the bookmark bar. Also, deleted folder remain in the bookmark bar.

Workaround: When I quit and re-open Orion the bookmarks is gone. Seriously?

        Expected behavior:
Deleted bookmarks and folder should be deleted immediately and synced with the Bookmark bar

        0.99.131.0.2-beta

        • I replied to an old thread, Tabs become unresponsive on Orion 127.2, but am also starting a new one here as Vlad requested of the last poster in that thread. Here’s Jdb’s 9 April post, #7:

I also experience this behavior routinely on iOS (presently 1.3.7 (15) running on iOS 17.3.1, but this has happened for months across several system and app updates).

Usually the interface also stops responding to taps. Force-quitting and restarting the app is the only solution that I’ve found.

…I replied with post #96 there:

I have this issue on the latest iOS versions and it has gotten worse over the last couple weeks. While browsing, interacting with the tab button (which has become my nemesis), or switching back to the app, the interface will lock up, freezing and becoming unresponsive. I searched past threads here and your comment describes my issue exactly, 8 months later. Like you, bringing up the app switcher and flicking up to force quit Orion is the only solution I have found. However I am having to do it often enough I thought I would post here, thank you all for taking the time to document this. Cc @Vlad + happy new year everyone! Long live Kagi and Orion!

The interface should remain responsive to touch input at all times.

          • This feature provides the user a more convenient and straightforward experience.

If I try to use a 3rd party password manager, then Orion does not give me the option to automatically fill in the password like Safari does:

            (Example shows Safari)

Instead Orion requires me to click on the key icon, press on the 3rd party's password manager option and search for the login details inside the password manager's app making the process to login longer.

            • Steps to reproduce:

              1. Create a series of bookmarks
              2. Move them aroud
              3. Compare current favicons to previous favicons

(Restarting Browser does reset favicon positions, but not a solution)

              Expected behavior:
              Favicons should stay the same

              • Brief Summary
Rather than opening the standalone 'view source' tab when selecting View Source, opening the Web Inspector directly to the Sources tab would be clearer and provide a better user experience in my opinion.

                Details:
The current standalone 'view source' tab has very limited functionality (no line numbering, no syntax highlighting) and has some unexpected behaviours around its connection to the originating tab (see https://orionfeedback.org/d/5561-refreshing-view-source-tab-should-reload-page-source).

Chrome & Firefox open sources in new tabs, however they provide various features & visual enhancements including the previously mentioned line numbering & syntax highlighting as well as configurable word wrapping in some instances.

Rather than investing the work into building a full source code viewer or integrating a non-native-feeling third-party solution, Orion could follow Safari's approach and rely on the existing functionality provided by the Web Inspector, with the added benefits of remaining in the current tab's context and resolving any confusion between whether the displayed source code is up to date or not (thereby making https://orionfeedback.org/d/5561-refreshing-view-source-tab-should-reload-page-source irrelevant).

                Image/Video:
The following are screenshots after activating View Source or equivalent commands in each browser, showing how they all provide various enhancements & affordances vs Orion's raw text output.

                Orion:

                Chrome:

                Firefox:

                Safari:

                Suggested alternative outcome for Orion:

<Include steps to reproduce the bug; Did you try using Compatibility mode (https://help.kagi.com/orion/support-and-community/troubleshooting-webpage-issues.html)? Did you try using a clean Orion Profile? If applicable, does Safari behave in the same way?>

Not sure if this is a known bug, but to my knowledge I have not found people reporting it.

In Safari, Strongbox can automatically find the entry of this website:

But in Orion, I can only click the button to open and select the strongbox, and then I have to manually enter the url information to find the username and password. I don't know if it's possible to make it work like in Safari.

                  Expected behavior:
