It would be cool if Tor and Onion urls were directly supported. Maybe just in private windows – similar to Brave?
Add Tor / Onion support
I agree, it would be cool, but only if the browser was spoofed to look like Chrome 89 on a standard screen resolution, that way us Orion users on Tor won't stand out like those people who use Brave, hah

The option to open in the Tor browser would be better. Browsing Tor through un-official Tor browsers increases the risk for fingerprinting, which is kind of the entire point of using Tor—to browse anonymously. Using Tor through an uncommon browser like Orion would make your browser extremely identifiable. Same goes for Brave; not recommended.
h2flux You are right, but the main reason for Brave being bad is because the user agent is not set to Chrome and the Device shows up as Linux (Even on Windows 10), and also Brave does not spoof the screen resolution properly, if Orion was to spoof the OS to be Windows 10 and the UA to be Chrome 89, as well as the scree resolution then it could be viable. Brave is defiantly no good which is why I would still recommend the official Tor browser...
FluffyKitty776 I also recall that Brave used to have an issue wherein the GPU vendor and exact model were leaked, so I am not really quite sure if extremely precise fingerprinting resistance is truly it's goal other than alot of adveritisng on youtube channels for perhaps subliminal download suggestion? Anyways tor should be used if you want absolute fingerprinting resistance, as I used to use hardened Firefox and the fingerprinting was still extremely identifiable by fingerprinting websites, so no matter how much privacy badger extensions you use it will be identifiable unless if you use Tor.
This is a suggestion for the distant feature, because it's unlikely that a large number of users will be interested in this, compared to the amount of work required to implement it.
In short, it would be handy to have the ability to run a Tor proxy on a computer so that Orion on iOS could use it to open onion links. You could even build the Tor client and proxy functionality into desktop Orion in order to make the setup process easier for users.
All of the existing Tor browsers on iOS are a pain to use, because they run a local Tor client that gets killed if the app stays in the background for too long, forcing you to reconnect to the Tor network all over again.
You can use this application in addition to orion if you want: https://orbot.app
