A few things:

  • How would the switch layout be obtained?
  • Sometimes there are alternative context menu items that are shown with alt, but they are pretty rare among both first and third party apps. They generally seem like a "advanced user" feature. Would this feature be catered to only "advanced users"?
  • coudl you give some more info about the path finder customizer?
  • What exactly is the "usual configuration"? I believe this configuration is for some system-wide shortcuts that appear under {App name}->Services in the menu bar. How would this apply to context menus shown from right click?
  • most of the options you are suggesting are already available in the actual menu bar. What's the benefit of having the options duplicated and placed in the context menu?

    • Layout Switch is automatic in the sense that if focus mode is currently activated, then focus mode deactivation is proposed. In the logic of an O/I Switch

    • It's probably a problem with my translation. I wanted to offer a way of customizing the context menu with interfaces that users are already (somewhat) used to. Just that.
    • Yes. My proposal was twofold:
      to offer different functionalities from other browsers
      Increase productivity for certain types of users.

    The idea is to offer more choice and let users select the functions they like.
    I've just given a starting example.

      Can we have an option in the settings to be able to hide/unhide some of the right click options below or all them depending on your preference.

      I like the idea of everything being customisable and I am personally very minimalist

      For example I am not a web developer so I have no business clicking View Page Source so its useless to me so let me please hide it in the settings. I pay money for a premium screenshot tool (Cleanshot X) with annotations so I wont need to click Take screenshot. Again please let me hide it within the settings.

      Other people may need them so I think it should be 100% customisable to fit our personal needs.

        optuma Not sure how would UI for this look like, because context-menu is context dependent. It is different if you click anywhere on page, on a link, select some text, on an image... plus it changes based on installed extensions. How would a user be allowed to edit all that is not clear.

            Vlad Firefox also has preferences (for general settings) and about:config (for advanced settings). So something similar to this?

                    Meaning that existence and position of elements in the context menu, depends a lot on the context where the menu is triggered. So it is unclear how would an UI to allow setting this would look like.

                        Thanks for providing this.

                        I personally don't use reload, go back from right-click menu. I use the toolbar at the top.

                        I am not sure about the best solution but I think it would be cleaner to be able to remove things that are not necessary to the user.

                                  On the left are all the options. Right: activated options.
                                  Just move the options from left to right and top to bottom.

                                      Younger_Me The thing is, context menus look different depending on what you're clicking, as per the word "context" in the name. When clicking an image, text, url, or video, different options show up.

                                          Younger_Me Not that I do not like it, but trying to understand how do we fit yet another niche feature while we have 2000 open bug reports. My recommendation is to simplify the ask to the minimum viable. Recreating some kind of new UI takes a lot of time. I wish we could do everything you recommend, we simply need to balance available resources.
