@dino Despite running those commands I encountered a frozen tab. Will continue monitoring the situation. Overall it seems to happen significantly less frequently.

For what it's worth, it seems all my frozen tabs have happened on websites that continuously refresh (think discord or a forum/imageboard where new messages are loaded seamlessly without requiring the user to refresh the page)

I came to this thread because this issue has become so bad, it almost makes Orion unusable for me. I applied the fix, but within a few second the issue reoccured.

Update: it got way, way worse. There is only a couple of minutes before the issue reoccurs after a restart. Mouse over stops on all tabs now. Even rendering issues of mouse over menu's occur on different sites. In the last 40 minutes I think I had to restart the browser 20+ times to just keep working. It seems that the issue occurs faster when more tabs are open.

I'm working a lot in Wordpress, which is where the issue mostly appears for me. Most of the page stays usable, but links and editing of text or other elements stop working. I know when the issue starts, because the hover over function of my cursor stops working, which means the cursor of the text editor also disappears. Weirdly enough, the copy/paste function between taps stops working also.

The only way to fix the issue is to completely quit Orion, and restart. Just closing and opening the affected tab does not help at all.

I'm running Version 0.99.127.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.1) on MacOS 14.4.1 (23E224)

Megabits Yes I did. Didn't make a difference for me. But maybe I didn't do it correctly. I copy and pasted it into Terminal, hit enter and restarted Orion.

Sometimes, you open a website and you can't click on it.

The only way to navigate on the site is close the tab and reopen again.

I have Ublock Origin installed but it is deactivated.

I would expect to navigate without issues.

      Sonoma (14)

I also have this issue, but have to close an re-open to be able to access the problem site. This can happen on any site and only seems to affect a single tab at a time.

Merged 2 posts from You can't click on the website.

dino This seemed to have helped clear the issues for me. Haven't had any freezing tabs or weird behavour since I did the Terminal thing and the Reset to all Defaults.

In the past two days I have not experienced any freezes on Version 0.99.127.2.2-rc (WebKit 619.1.1)

I think the flag does help, but it hasn't entirely fixed the issue for me. Got a tab to become unresponsive while browsing documentation on GitHub.

The flag changed the behavior of this bug. Now the page seems not to respond to scroll either. But it happens less frequently.

                  laiz latest 0.99.127.2.2-rc (WebKit 619.1.1).

But it happens way less frequently. I'm not quite sure if they are relative.

dino combine this and defaults fix my 99.9% randomly freeze, render a page with some dislocation issue, and vertical tree bar unresponsive issue, really thanks ur work

laiz Please check this video. It just happened. I can interact with the page, but it won't refresh the display. I need to go to another tab and then back to let it refresh.

Recently on Version 0.99.127.2.2-rc (WebKit 619.1.1) I have had webapps open in a frozen/uninteractable state (Discord, ChatGPT) but relaunching the webapp has fixed that. I have not had webapps suddenly freeze/become unresponsive.

Here's an instance with 0.99.127.2-rc on a Catalina system (MacBook Air/Intel Graphics):

                        sample-of-orion-rc-web-content.txt
                        92kB
                        sample-of-orion-rc.txt
                        116kB

Note I could click on links in the tab but I couldn't scroll either with the trackpad or the scrollbar. Refreshing didn't help and I ended up just closing the window to continue my work.

This issue is ruining the whole brosing experience and making it frustrating, as a user. I have to close and restart Orion multiple times a day since this bug happens very frequently (I would say an average of every 2 hours of use).
Specifically, it won't let you load new tabs or reload currently opened tabs, which means you basically can not navigate.

Fortunately, it looks like this is a known issue. I am still leaving a screen recording here to showcase the issue. The screen recording shows how Orion becomes unresponsive and won't let you navigate, and I am opening Safari and browsing on it to prove that this is not a connectivity issue.
Whenever this happens, you have to close and restart Orion and most of the times you have to close-reopen repeatily, because it will still be unresponsive even after restarting.
It took me multiple attempts at restarting Orion before being able to navigate to this site and being able to report the issue.

As always, we trust the team and have no doubt this will be addressed swiftly. 🫡

will try to apply the workarounds suggested by Vlad and dino ; will keep this comment updated if I still encounter issues.
