Can replicate it - Hope the solution to this will come ASAP

@orionlover @DanielN @jbergstroem @CyberArchon can you please share little more details?

    • Mac Modal name
    • Processor info
    • Any external GPU?
    • Any external display?
    • Is the issue started only after 126.4.1.4 release?
    • Can you try disabling GPU Process: DOM Rendering from Experimental Features and relaunch Orion and try reproducing same?

      dino

      • MacBook Pro 16" (2021)
      • M1 Pro
      • No external GPU
      • No external display
      • Started for me somewhere in a RC between 0.99.126.4.1 and 0.99.127
      • Yes, I was able to reprouce it first try with GPU Process: DOM Rendering disabled.

These are steps to reproduce for me:

        1. open orionfeedback in a new tab and scroll
        2. open youtube.com/trending in a new tab and scroll
        3. select orionfeedback as the current tab using the mouse
        4. ctrl+tab from orionfeedback tab to youtube.com/trending tab

So similar to what DanielN posted above

dino Yup, seems to have solved it on my end using the dev build you provided.

dino So far so good after using this build for a couple hours.

I can’t offer much, but I an experiencing this problem and I have an M2 Pro machine, (120hz)

            • Mac Modal name: MacBook Pro 14-inch, 2023
            • Processor info: Apple M2 Max
            • Any external GPU: No
            • Any external display: No
            • Is the issue started only after 126.4.1.4 release: I've used 126.4.1.5 and 126.4.1.6 for an hour now; seems to work.
            • Can you try disabling GPU Process: DOM Rendering from Experimental Features and relaunch Orion and try reproducing same: could reproduce with it disabled

Testing Orion-14.0-127.1.0.0 at the moment - all good so far.

I also have this since the latest beta. When I resize the window, the webview gets refreshed. Just turned off 120fps rendering and will see if that fixes it.

Nevermind, even with 120fps disabled, this still happens. See video

As you can see, the webview refreshes upon switching tabs or resizing the window.

              Version 0.99.127.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)
              Builddate Mar 26 2024
              MacBook Pro 2021, 14 inch, M1 Pro, 16GB RAM
              macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (build 23E224)

Moving to a different tab and going back to the youtube video, there were moments when I tab back in that the page just freezes. It happens whether the video is playing or is paused. I can't even scroll, I can three finger swipe to go back but the home page of youtube is unresponsive.

I have to kill the tab and re-open the link for things to go back to normal.

I expected that after I tab back in, I'd be able to scroll down and see the comments or rewind the video

                Orion 0.99.127.1-beta

                Sonoma (14)

Merged 1 post from Youtube freezing after switching to a different window.
