Currently, when you drag a tab out of the window, regardless where your cursor is, it ends up in the same location the previous window is. It would be more intuitive if you were able to drag the tab out of a window, and whenever you release your pointer, the newly created window from dragging the tab out is moved to wherever your cursor is.
Drag tab out of window
- Edited
Steps to reproduce:
Drag out a tab from a window with multiple tabs. Compatibility mode on works the same way, Safari does not.
Expected behavior:
Dragged out window would open where the tab was dropped
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion Version 0.99.122-beta (WebKit 615.1.11.7)
OS: Ventura 13.2
Hardware: 14-inch M1 Pro Base Model 16/512
Image/Video:
First picture is what I did (dragging the tab out), second is what I expected to happen (window opens on that side), third is what actually happened (new window pops out over the original one)
Believe this is a duplicate of https://orionfeedback.org/d/3379-drag-tab-out-of-window. Same Issue.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, but it seems the old behaviour is still happening for me? I am on the newest version of Orion at the time of writing (0.99.125-beta)
Curious if the other participants of this thread have had luck experiencing the new intended behaviour?
Here's a screen recording for me. You can see the window opens where the previous window is.
