Downloads sometimes fail when using profiles
Steps to reproduce:
- Try to download a file in the first, default profile and it will succeed
- Make a new clean profile
- Try to download a file, you will see the animation that it started the download, but the file will never appear in the downloads folder, and the list of downloads in Orion will show an entry with status "Failed". There is no indicator that anything happens under Networking in the web inspector
I tried to export a table from the latest phpMyAdmin (5.2.0), but downloads don't work elsewhere either. They work perfectly fine in the default profile. I tried to set every setting the same in second profile, but it wouldn't work.
I tried disabling every extension for the page where I was trying to download a file, and a clean profile didn't even have any installed. Enabling compatibility mode or disabling content blocker does not help.
I am using the default Downloads folder location, and turned off "open safe files after downloading".
Expected behavior:
It should be possible to download files in any profile.
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20), iMac 24" M1, macOS Monterey 12.6 build 21G115
I have a simple solution:
- Open 'Preferences' ( ⌘ + ,)
- Navigate to 'General' Tab
- Select 'File download location:', and re-select the downloads folder (or folder of your choice)
- Re-try the download and it should work.

Actually, couple days ago I've tried to download Zoom but I faced with the exact same problem, so I was forced to open Safari and download file that I want.
Steps to reproduce:
- Open notes;
- Type something;
- Try to export;
Expected behavior:
To see downloaded file on my Mac.
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.122-beta (WebKit 615.1.11.7);

I can confirm it's happening on my end too
Here's me trying to download the orion browser dmg.
Edit:
Actually, just tried the solution shown here (re-selecting the download folder) and it seems to work now.
I would highly suggest to give an error message.

Honcharenko try re-selecting the download folder on your preferences.
I'm also experiencing this issue. Re-selecting my downloads folder did not fix my issue.
Steps to reproduce:
1.) Create a new profile that uses the initial profile created by defualt as a template
2.) Attempt to download a word document file or pdf(these are the only two I've attempted so far)
3.)download seems to start but immediately fails
Expected behavior:
Expected files to download and complete downloading as they would in the initial profile
Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion Ver. 0.99.122-beta
MacOS Monterey Ver. 12.6
Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch
laiz Can't confirm that. Issue still persists for me on Version 0.99.123.3-beta.
gitarero164 Can you show steps to reproduce/video?
Vlad I've done some more testing and it seems like the issue affects existing profiles aswell as new ones, and so far, only my Intel machine (macOS Monterey) - my Apple Silicon machine (macOS Ventura) does not seem to be affected by this whatsoever. I tested by lauching a profile (either existing or new, didnt matter) and downloading a test file (usually used speed.hetzner.de for this). Animation for starting the download appears, but the download immediately fails. Looks the same as it did before and was described and shown in previous posts.
Let me know if you still want a video of this, might have to censor some stuff I have open though, or share it privately in some way.
gitarero164 A video with steps to reproduce would be best.
