Hi,
Tried latest version of Orion (Version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)) with the hope that I'll see my extensions, which were made for firefox and chrome, working in this browser. But extensions simply do not work. Extensions I've tried (session buddy, marvelous suspender). Is such thing expected and Orion has only few, specific extensions working or am I doing something wrong?
Steps to reproduce:
You only need to install extensions to see that they are not working (session buddy, marvelous suspender)
Expected behavior:
I expect extensions to work as this is mentioned in Orion's features.
Versions:
Orion Version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20), MacOS Ventura 13.0.1, Apple Mac Mini M1:
Many extensions do work. If you have particular issues with some, it may be worth documenting which these are.
You may find you don't need marvelous suspender on Orion, as there is a built-in "low power mode" which sounds like it might do similar.
Similarly, session buddy sounds a lot like Orion's built-in tab groups feature.
I even do not know how to document this - extensions simply do not work. I press on extensions button - and nothing is happening.
Now regarding your thoughts - "low power mode" is all or nothing. Marvelous suspender is more flexible (whitelists for example and other suspend/unsuspend options).
Session buddy is not exactly the same as tab groups as I can see. Can I search between all of my tabs? Can I autosave and have old versions of my sessions?
Is compatibility mode on?
Could you clarify how is the compatibility mode for particular web page is related to inability to start extension? Or are you talking about some other incompatibility mode?
Oh, I guess I understood what you wanted to ask. When I set compatibility mode - extensions buttons get inactive. But I have this mode off and extensions buttons are active. But when I press on these buttons - nothing happens.
What buttons?

So what’s happening is it knows I’m not using Google chrome and I can’t download any extension on Firefox or chrome extensions but this video only shows chrome. When I click add to Orion and this happens to EVERY EXTENSION not just this one in the video where when I click add to Orion it wants me to download Google chrome.

Hi, recently installed Orion on my mac and love the fact that it support both firefox and chrome extensions.
however, it looks like Orion doesn't support the new google chrome websotre https://chromewebstore.google.com yet. I can't install extensions from there (while firefox add-ons has no issue and works as expected).
I can confirm the new web store doesn't work on Version 0.99.125-beta (WebKit 616.1.22).
The good news is that it works on the current RC build (Version 0.99.125.4-rc (WebKit 617.1.6)) which should be landing on beta branch soon!

I cannot add any chrome extensions on ipad nor iphone with orion. Is there anyone has come up with a solution??

Extensions like decentraleyes, privacybadger and popup blocker should work but they don’t.
Expected behavior:
Extensions should work like privacybadger blocking things correctly and decentraleyes doing it’s job but popup blocker should stop popups.

instead of posting these very vague and unhelpful bugs, id suggest seeing of there's a post for each extension, and upvote that. if not, make one separately for each extension. also, describe in detail how to observe the extensions not working.
also, ios extension capability is limited as apple doesn't allow patching webkit.

- Descentraleyes (I haven't been able to determine if it is working)
- Video Download Helper (not working)
- PureVPN (not working)
- WindScribe VPN (not working)
Expected behavior:
I would have expected the extensions to work as they do in Firefox or Chrome, but they are not working.

LastPass works for me, but I had to install it via the Chrome store. The extension via Firefox didn't work.

Latest RC has the same problem.
Edit: Using Edge under User Agent got around this.
Vlad I appreciate your update and feedback on the project. I commend your efforts to improve this product, but I urge you to address this issue as soon as possible. This issue prevents us from using third-party extensions, which limits our options and flexibility. Some third-party extensions may offer features that are more suitable for our needs than the official one.

eirk I did not know that, I thought a bug prevented the extensions from working. Take Brave as an example ( Although it is built on chromium thus it is stupid to take that as an example but oh well )all the extensions work. Now that you have informed me i understand how hard it is. Thank you for informing me. I am sorry if i seemed rude in my previous posts but had no intensions of implying that you guys and not working hard enough.
