    Waiting patiently for this!

Edit: Adding some of my usage patterns for how I use profiles. I have two virtual desktops and two separate Chrome profile windows opened on each of my desktop. One is personal and other one is work. This goes for the browser keeping the sessions, passwords and everything else separated and goes for the virtual desktops as well. Windows, even remembers that If I open up my profile using a shortcut (the shortcut part is very important), it automatically switches desktop as it remembers which desktop I use for what kind of app. It is kind of cool but macOS does not do that. On macOS I can still right click the browser icon in dock and select the profile I want to open, without having to go through the profile switcher screen every-time on startup. I've tried containers - but they seem not that useful to me. Profiles are like using a separate computer - Your extensions, bookmarks, history, passwords, login sessions, themes, download settings - everything is different except it's your favorite browser!

This feature would be game changer,
It's only reason why i'm stuck with chrome.

This feature is the only thing that's stopping me from adopting Orion as my default browser. It's absolutely essential.

As a freelancer I have multiple work accounts on same sites, and I need to be able to open them at the same time in different profiles. Also I have multiple computers and want to be able to open these profiles (with their own history, bookmarks, extensions etc) on multiple computers with it all being synced automatically. Chrome has this almost perfect, except the part where Google spys on everything to serve me more ads. I will pay to get away from Google for a worthy replacement; I hope its Orion.

There is a button called "sponsor this issue" to the right. Every bit helps.

+1 Yes please this is the last people need to switch from Chrome. We need the chrome users interface, to be able to switch and jump between users and accounts.

+1 for this - Since I work with multiple clients, I use a different profile for each one to ensure that they stay separate from each other. Definitely not a need for every user, but a super needed use case with me. Even if the extensions synced across, that would be honestly better. I just need to ensure browsing history, cookies, and bookmarks are separate with each profile.

+1 Just giving Orion a try today and this is my favorite chrome feature that has me locked to it. Seperating work and personal is huge

In Chromium Browsers like Microsoft Edge, and Brave, there are Browser Profiles. These let you keep a certain account and all it's parts like extensions and accounts in two separate places. Could something like this be implemented please, because it would be a big help with school and making sure that my school extentions can't access my private data.

Merged 1 post from Browser Profiles.

We are starting to work on this feature.

Can you confirm that profiles are completely independant from one another and do not share

                      • History
                      • Bookmarks
                      • Extensions
                      • Settings
                      • Passwords

Meaning each profile has its own data?

Is the expectation these would be mirrored in the same way on mobile?

                        Vlad
Hi Vlad, for me personally, having this kind of strict separation is exactly what I would want. I want a way to clearly separate different browser use cases, e.g. for Personal use and Work, so a clear separation is necessary. Its also what Chromium-based Browsers do, which is what this issue is initially based on as far as I know?

Would also be cool to have on mobile, but for me this would not be a priority. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not know any iOS browser that supports this kind of feature? Would be an advantage, but not a necessity, as I wouldnt expect as many people to be that heavy users of browsers on iPhones. Might be more useful on iPad than on iPhone after all.

PS: sent a few bucks to sponsor this feature, hope it helps a little 🙂

How important is that windows from multiple profiles can be open at the same time?

This presents huge challenges, for example dragging a tab from one to another profile would be very problematic as they dont share the same webkit sessions, cookies, cache etc...

Vlad I do think this is very important! I usually always have my private browsing open and dont really want to close that while using a work profile or similar. I often even have my work email in a browser (usually Microsoft Edge) in the background while using my main Orion for other stuff. So yes, this is important.

But I dont necessarily need to drag tabs arount between sessions. I don't think I have ever even tried doing that in other browsers. Having multiple instances without actually needing multiple browsers running at the same time already helps a ton.
