I've found in day-to-day use, it's pretty easy to miss the download icon in the top corner that would indicate if a download has begun. I think some kind of prominent animation or indicator, similar to other web browsers would be highly beneficial to clearly and immediately show that a download has started.

Anecdotally, when I first began using Orion, I thought nothing was happening so I kept hitting download buttons on websites waiting for something to happen only to fill up my Downloads folder haha!

Ginjah Can you be more specific in terms of what you mean as prominent animation. What does Safari have?

Vlad Safari's animation features their logo going to the "Downloads" icon. If an animation was not suitable, even automatically showing the Downloads pane in Orion would be noticeable IMO.

In Safari's case, an older example can be seen here: with the difference being instead of going to the dock, it goes to the icon in the Browser itself.

Ginjah Orion has exactly the same animation?

Hmm, that's very strange then. On my machine I don't have any animation at all within Orion.

Ginjah Do you have Downloads in Dock?
What does Safari do on your machine?

FWIW, I do have that animation on my machine with Orion.

The animation only appears when the Downloads folder is present in the Dock. So, it would be better to make the file icon go into the downloads icon in the toolbar of the browser itself.

The download icon animation is way too subtle, i have no idea that something has successfully downloaded unless i go and click the icon in toolbar.
The download animation shown in the videos above is perfect, and should go to the toolbar.
