As I understand it, Orion currently only uses the EasyList and EasyPrivacy filter lists for the integrated content blocker. The native adblocker would be more useful if users could add custom filter lists (like the regional variants of EasyList for non-english websites).

Yes I agree, I had to install uBlock Origin because Dutch ads were still getting through. Hopefully in the future we (or you as a developer) can add localised easylist/blocklist too. Thanks for considering.

      Thanks for your question Vlad
I guess the most user-friendly way would be like how uBlock Origin implements it, with an addition collection of lists that you can activate. But if that can be called minimal, I'm not sure about.

The most minimal way would be to add a 'Add Custom Blocklist URL' button in the Privacy section where you can go to a custom section/window where you can add the URL of custom blocklists.
      A list of potential URL's: https://easylist.to/pages/other-supplementary-filter-lists-and-easylist-variants.html
What would be useful is that a user can see which lists are already added to Orion by default, to not add lists with duplicates that might slow down Orion.

      Hope this helps.
      Best of luck with development,

      Jan

janpeeters Yeah that seems like a minimal way, no way around it. We need both checkboxes for some widely used and a custom URL.

        Steps to reproduce:

        1. Visit (https://dailymotion.com)
        2. Detects ad blocker.

With Compatibility Mode on, the pop-up disappears.
Doesn't happen in Brave Browser for example.

        Expected behavior:
Watch dailymotion with Compatibility Mode off.

        Orion, OS version; hardware type:
        Version 0.99.122-beta (WebKit 615.1.11.7); MacBook Air M1 (macOS Ventura 13.1 build 22C65)

Just uBlock origin gives us the ability to add custom filters. Orion too should do that. Even Brave browser for IOS has implemented it.

Orion does not seem to block cookie pop-ups. (iOS 16.2)
                Example: https://www.ansa.it/
In my opinion, either you could try to make this extension work: https://github.com/OhMyGuus/I-Still-Dont-Care-About-Cookies or you should be able to include these lists in Orion's built-in adblock (that are used on uBlock Origin): EasyList Cookie and https://adguard.com/en/blog/new-annoyance-filters.html

Btw, I can't install the extensions from the Chrome webstore... no button appears on it.

So I see that Orion's built-in adblock use Easylist Privacy along with some other lists.
Maybe my idea could work? Does anyone have any other ideas? How do you get around pop-up cookies on iPhone?

                        Steps to reproduce:

                        • Install "I don't care about cookies" extension

                        Expected behavior:

                        • If you visit websites like google.com or youtube.com, the extension should automatically remove the "Accept cookie" banners, but it doesn't do anything.
