  • Steps to reproduce:

    1. Press a shortcut in the the Ctrl + Command Series(Sidebar Options) of shortcuts repeatedly.
    2. Open a New Orion Window no sign of Sidebar Icon, Open Sidebar with shortcut and close it. Open a New Orion Window , Now it's gone again. (Make the Orion Window a bit smaller say 75% of screen)

    Expected behavior:
    Something reliable and not confusing.

    1. Say If a shortcut from a similar category does something (Ctrl + Command + 1,2,3,4,) It should be common to things, I expected They would feel the same that Pressing the same shortcut would close what it opens in the sidebar (,1,4 options does this but not 2,3) but the behavior differs, sometimes unfavorably.
    2. At lease when having one or more windows, sidebar Icon should be there.

Sorry for the long video and, Cheers...

    • Brief Summary
When executing the shortcut for copy current URL, it is a tad bit annoying that there is no indication of whether it happened or not. I am sure it works every single time. But the lack of immediate feedback makes it an incomplete feature in an experience standpoint.
A minimal visual feedback by any means would be awesome.

      Very Abstract Possible Solution
      p.s. don't judge me 🙂
I was searching for which existing elements can be used for this purpose. This is just a blind idea since I don't know what mechanisms are used here to implement this. So I hope that you can display a blinking copy icon on the url bar in some convenient place when executing this shortcut. I saw the reader mode icon becoming visible on the address bar when hovering near it. maybe something similar I guess. I might be totally wrong. Or I don't know how the hovered link display at the bottom left works, maybe rework into that I guess. Or just send a notification to system.

      • Steps to reproduce:

Open a Site Create a web app with the following options

        unticking the show title bar
        Click Create
The button is not responsive anymore. The web app is created but there is no icon. and is not launched automatically.

        Expected behavior:

Web app being created without any issues as usual (with icon, and create window closes automatically opening the created web app)

          1. Find any link to Discord channel
          2. Open it in Orion browser and tap "Open in Discord"
          3. Discord opens but nothing else happens.

          Expected behavior:
Clicking the link will open the Discord and accept the invitation to the channel.

          Orion: v. 0.99.124.4.8-rc
          macOS Venture 13.4.1
          MBP M1 2020

          Image/Video:

Here I demonstrate that nothing happens using Orion and then open the same link with Safari and we see that it actually accepted the invitation and now I have a new channel in Discord:

          • Currently, Orion only allows one YouTube video to be open in a window at a time. This can be inconvenient for users who want to watch multiple videos at the same time or switch between videos quickly. I suggest that Orion allow users to open multiple YouTube windows, similar to how Chrome and other browsers do.

This feature would allow users to:

            • Watch multiple YouTube videos at the same time.
            • Switch between videos more quickly.
            • Create "spaces" for different types of YouTube videos, such as music videos, tutorials, or podcasts.

Other browsers, such as Chrome, already allow users to open multiple YouTube windows

This feature is well-implemented and does not have any negative impact on the user experience. I believe that Orion would benefit from adding this feature as well.

I would be happy to provide more information about this feature if needed. Thank you for your consideration.

            I hope this is helpful!

            • As illustrated by the screenshot below, iCloud Passwords extension does not work. This window should trigger a code popup on the device and then you write it in the displayed extension window.

The correct behaviour should be :

              Technical Details :
              Orion Version : Version 0.99.124.4.5-rc (WebKit 616.1.14.11.1)
macOS Version : macOS Sonoma 14.0 Beta (23A5286i)
              MacBook Model : 13-inch MacBook Pro M1 2020 16GB RAM

              • In light of WWDC, I am putting this here as a long-term goal. If I don’t post it someone else will. 🙂

                • vscode.dev is already logged into github, so the web app should recognize the cookies (i guess) or the sign in popup should go to github and let us sign in, but it goes to orion but not received back by vscode web app ( this is expected considering the behaviour of web apps but there should be a fix)

Create a WebApp for WhatsApp (that's sounds fun) or create a webapp for docs, try to download something, like exporting to pdf or downloading a document in WhatsApp, it completes successfully but the file is gone somewhere we cannot find.

                    Expected behavior:
The file should be in the downloads folder or a save file popup should be there

Go to a website in which you have a password saved.
Go to the login form and click on your username on the autofill window.
Then, even though you have already clicked once and filled the credentials, the autofill window still shows up repeateadly on the password field.

                      Expected behavior:
The autofill window should close when the password is filled.

This bug does not apply to Safari.

                      • Brief summary
Import/Export iCloud Keychain to Orion Keychain is very useful for synchronizing passwords between keychain.

                        Details
Like Duckduckgo Private Browser adopts this feature, this makes it very easy for us to enter a password when you want to log into a sites without having to open a password in the Macbook settings menu. So if the Orion Keychain can synchronize into the iCloud Keychain then it will make it easier to enter a password into a sites without having to do more action. If you can imitate the iCloud Keychain better with the 2FA feature.

                        • on webapp creation, you're presented with these options:

that's great and all, but u can't change those after u create the webapp

I propose creating a settings window (like normal apps) that allow you to configure some basic settings. I also request a few more features. for example:

                          • mobile or desktop toggle
                          • always show/only show traffic lights on hover
                          • show/hide title bar
                          • optionally show app name and icon in title bar, or just have an empty title bar
                          • shortcuts to open/close app, similar the shortcuts for opening saved windows
                          • remember where u left off, keeping the url
                          • incognito apps, don't save the data
                          • custom useragent
                          • toggle float on top

                          • Currently, all bookmark access is geared towards mousing. The fastest keyboard-only access to launching a specific bookmark I have found so far, is ⌘⌥B, ⌘F, [type search], ↹, ↹, ↓, ↵. Thats... not great. Using the URL/Search bar, Firefox has a clever prefix (*) for searching bookmarks, among other things. Orion already shows bookmarks from the URL bar:

With the * idea, typing * welc would have only showed the bookmark, like performing a search in the Edit Bookmarks window.

Although mentioned in this post, the OP actual meant bookmark keywords, which Orion already has, so I thought it worth opening a separate suggestion.

Other current solution I could find (but havent tried yet) is a Raycast Extension. Not a fan of this but maybe some would find this useful in the meantime.

                            • When I login in a website where i haven't used a username/password yet - orion do not ask me if i want to save the password - I am missing this feature really because i have to add the password, url, and username manually over "Manage Passwords". This is very annoying...

                              • The suggestion is simple: Support the recently introduced passkeys.

There is already a discussion of WebAuthn, here:

                                https://orionfeedback.org/d/197-support-for-webauthn

Moreover, the passkey feature is really WebAuthn under the hood, as far as I understand. So perhaps this feature suggestion should be merged with the above. But on the other hand, passkey usage seems sufficiently different from using a hardware token supporting WebAuthn to merit its own discussion.

Edit: I see this got tagged Desktop. I intended this suggestion to cover both desktop and iphone/ipad, but the web interface got the better of me.

Edit 2: I now see where I missed a rather obvious button. Apparently there is no way to make a suggestion for both categories at the same time.

                                • I'd like to be able to change the default mapping associated with an extension's actions. For instance, Bitwarden normally autofills with Command-Shift-L, but this is bound to My Library by default. Other browsers typically have a page where supported actions can be remapped to specific keystrokes, and this'd be useful here as well.

                                    For colored tab chrome
Compact tabs need to be added. Just like Safari's, except they use Safari 14's design for the compact tabs, and also have a spot near the window buttons and toolbar buttons, and the right corner near the "+" button wherein the browser is draggable with the mouse. There should also be an option for people such as myself who want a web-application-like experience and wish to remove flotato and instead use this browser except with the colored tab color option on, in which I have to resort to Safari to use instead. I would suggest making an option for users who would like this, as well as tab colors

                                    • an import/export feature using a generic format (like csv) would be nice for people who want to switch from other password managers
