I also have the same issue, this is one that impacts everyday activities, would be good if we could get a fix soon
it seems to be an issue introduced in version 0.99.121-beta and remains unfixed in the current version (0.99.122-beta)
Also having this issue and replicating it has been really tough. Exact same behaviour though, icons appear and text is truncated with ellipses even when the bookmark bar is set to "Text Only". Switching one of the other settings and back to "Text Only" works for a while (minutes at most) but for seemingly no reason it goes back to icons and truncated text.

finally managed to record it happeningit seems that re-ordering wil force the elements to be refreshed, and it will display the bookmarks correctly for a short period of time. doesnt know what this means tho
