    • That's not what split tabs feature is about. Any browser can open multiple windows, hiding UI is not the important part. The ability to combine splits into groups, and doing so quickly, so you can switch between a tab that has a full screen page, and than a tab that has 2 splits in it, and maybe another tab that has 4. Of course you can open 5 windows, assign them to different spaces, resize them how you need. That's just a lot of friction.

But friction is the word I would describe my general experience with Orion unfortunately.

Just wish there was a browser I could switch to from Arc. But seems like ease of use is not the priority for Orion at the moment.

The idea is that one tab can have multiple splits, so you could switch between groups of pages open in splits in a single click. OS would require you to change tabs separately in each open window. Its like splits in vim and splits in any other editor

      • Really looking forward to this being fixed, every time I give another attempt to switch to orion it's bugging me a lot, would buying a subscription move the task up in priority?

        • I think the tag is a mistake, makes most sense on desktop, and possibly on ipad

        • the issue is still there unfortunately

          • I only brought up Arc as a good example splits implementation, as a reference. To elaborate on one of earlier messages, I think good comparison are splits in vim and splits in any other text editor, for example vscode. Splits in vim are the main reason I cannot use any other text editor or IDE.

            • Vlad Sorry, you didn't ask me, but I will also reply to this:
It's because in Arc you can have a tab with multiple splits, and you can go back and forth between this tab with splits and another full screen tab, if you have two windows side by side, you have to have a separate window for fullscreen tabs, or to resize the window all the time, and window management on mac isn't that great. Also opening a tab in a split view in arc is just option+enter, super easy, wish more browsers had this feature.

            • please don't make it limited to 2 splits, I have 32:9 monitor and even maximum of 4 splits in arc is sometimes limiting for me. Arc does it great, similar to how Vim handles splits. So each tab has its own split. This way you can have multiple tabs that each have their own splits and you can switch between them.

              • Originally when starting the app - it works correctly if only one tab is open, but if you open any extrension window, it starts failing even with only one tab open. I verified it with both 1password and bitwarden extensions separately.
