    • After checking the Activity Monitor, I concluded that open tabs consume a significant amount of memory. For instance, the kit.com tab was using 1.2 GB of memory and that usage kept increasing as I used the email editor there for an hour. This was the case for all the tabs.

If you're experiencing similar high memory usage issues, the best solution is to enable Low Power Mode, which should help address the problem.

I appreciate that they did not suspend pinned tabs, allowing important tabs to remain active. After three hours of continuous use, I noticed that memory usage did not exceed 5 GB.

      • But after using it for a long time this is the result

        • OmkarBirje I conducted a test using the browser without any extensions, and it performed well with no lag, even though I had over 40 tabs open. In comparison, Arc had only 4-5 tabs open.

The memory usage was as follows: Orion Browser used 7.18 GB, while Arc used 5.65 GB.

Based on this, I believe that using this browser without extensions allows it to function effectively.

          • Hello,

I recently switched from Arc to Orion, but it appears to consume more memory even with fewer tabs open. I have also disabled the add blocker list. Tomorrow, Orion was using over 12 GB of memory with 10-15 tabs open, while Arc, with 20+ tabs and 5-6 pinned tabs, I have over 100 suspended tabs in a folder, and arc was using 8-9 GB of RAM.

Therefore, I decided to conduct a one-on-one comparison to determine if Orion is equal to Arc, but sometimes consumes more memory. Arc retains the same tabs from the previous day, while Orion retains approximately 20 tabs.

I also compared Orion to Safari, and Orion consumed slightly more memory. I noticed a lagging performance while using Orion for both comparisons.

Every time I use I Orion I get it using high memory notification from clean my mac. Mostly it happens to me when I'm using Figma, but never happens with any browser.

Despite liking Orion, memory optimization is the most important priority.

            • Yannick That's great, everyone! I'm currently using Arc but am in the process of migrating. In the future, if you could add a setting to increase the size of the pinned tab icons, that would be fantastic. Since I use a monitor, the icons feel a bit small to me. Yes, we can add multiple tabs due to their small size, but it will just be a setting to increase the size.

Also, the bottom area would be a great place for profiles. In Arc, profiles are integrated directly into the browser, while I love how Orion creates a separate window for them. This design allows Orion to treat profiles as standalone apps. I can set different Orion profiles to open based on my focus mode using Apple Shortcuts, which is very convenient.

            • I recently tried Orion, and I think it's great. However, I find that the UI design of Arc is better. Although Arc has been discontinued, I feel it was more complete and didn’t require additional features. Switching from Arc to Orion feels like moving from a colorful environment to a dull one. If there's a way to add a background shadow to the main window and highlight the current tab on the sidebar, that would be fantastic. Also, a way to give color to different spaces/profiles sidebar to differentiate it.

You'll get most of the arc users who love that UI.

              • I think the current PiP is good, but having more controls would make it even better, like a progress slider and 10-second forward and backward buttons. That's the only reason I can't switch to Orion as my main browser.

This feature really affects the user experience, as we wouldn't need to go back to the video page when following a tutorial or watching a movie while working.
