  • As seen below, intermittently the video will not fill the entire area of the player, leaving a lot of blank space. A refresh fixes the issue, but it occurs now and again. Does not occur in full screen. Orion content blockers enabled with all three built in lists. No third party content blockers.

YouTube video player to fill entire area as normal

    0.99.126.2-beta

    Sonoma (14)

    • Brief Summary
Introduce a feature to force an update check for installed extensions and apply the updates as necessary

      Details:
Right now the only way I know of to update extensions in Orion is to periodically check the Chrome/Firefox pages for your extensions and remove and readd them to get the updates.

This could be significantly improved by adding an updater to the extension manager window. This may allow you to check for extension updates for just one or all of them at a time and automatically download and apply the updates.

Perhaps a setting can also be added to automatically check for extension updates on a specified timeframe. Options could be daily, weekly, bi-weekly or manually

    • Steps to reproduce:
This occurs on a random basis after watching several YouTube videos. I haven't been able to narrow it down to a specific point. Also occurs in compatibility mode.

      Expected behavior:
YouTube player controls not to disappear

      Orion, OS version; hardware type:
      0.99.124.4.1-beta. Ventura 13.4.1. M1 Pro 16" MacBook Pro

      • I think they're referencing something like this. Either way please give us the option to disable messages like this. I get this when my battery reaches 10%, probably trying to ask me if I want to enable low power mode (even though I keep LPM on anyway because I appreciate the tab suspension). Messages like this that interrupt workflow are a little annoying for me. Perhaps a checkbox to turn them off would be great

      • Seconding this. BW extension has option to auto fill on page load. Works as expected on other browsers but not Orion. This is the case for both the Chrome and Firefox versions.
