But it works like that on Chrome - they have an Apple passwords extension. It would be great to have that in Orion (I much prefer Orion over Chrome)!

Can you add native compatibility with passwords app like safari?
User could use the apple ecosystem and apps to integrate their passwords with the browser for easy login information access.
The only way right now to integrate it is installing iCloud password extension from chrome web store.
Without extension:
I choose password providers, then it directs me to passwords app when I can choose the login
After login is chosen, it ask for MFA. So, no longer works because I cannot use the mfa from my saved credentials in passwords app.
Using the iCloud Passwords extension from chrome web store:
Same login flow:
Options are prompted quickly when I click the username or password field:
Then, I choose my login, passwords app ask for my fingerprint and the fields are filled:
Now, when GitHub ask for the mfa token, extension prompts to choose the correct mfa login info
After I choose the right one, token is autofilled and I can enter to GitHub.
There is any way to have this flow natively just like safari do?
dparedes07 Can you read the thread above and let us know if we need to make any changes to make this more obvious?
Vlad Thank you, didn't saw this post before, Thank you Vlad.
dparedes07 I would like to ask you what can Orion do differently so users are not confused about this?
Orion's Keychain is nice but integration with Apple's Passwords app would be lovely for those who are deep in the ecosystem (like me)
The iCloud Passwords Chrome extension is functional but limited
Apple Passwords would eventually replace the Orion Keychain
Vlad It would be really nice if passwords created in Orion would also show up in Apple's 'new' Passwords app, but that is technically impossible due to Apple's restrictions right? For that one could only use the Keychain app, am I right?
awesome035 Orion can not write into Apple's passwords (neither can any other app). You could potentially export Orion passwords and import them periodically.
Hi Vlad, apologies — just wanting to clarify. Are you asking what non-Apple password manager-style products integrate well with Orion that you could model off of, or are you asking what non-Safari browsers integrate the Passwords app well?
I guess what I am asking is what is the feature suggestion being proposed by this thread (and in this particular case is it feasible eg. any other non apple app is able to do similar)
Vlad Have emailed support@kagi.com with video walkthroughs (54332 in the email subject for ease) — displays personal information hence my hesitance to post them here. Hope that's okay!
hey there- for the record, i think this boils down to the issue mentioned in this post: https://orionfeedback.org/d/6932-suggest-a-password-from-a-3rd-party-password-managers-automatically/7
orion may not be implementing the autofill passwords api entirely correctly. the above is about the credential provider the poster is creating for Pass, but it applies equally to Apple Passwords (this thread) or other password providers (for me, Strongbox- this is what I use in safari and in other native macos credential fields, but nothing appears in Orion at all). Looks like Orion needs to pass at least one serviceIdentifier for OS-level password providers to work.
