Feature description:

instead of having a separate keychain for Orion passwords which only works in Orion, implement the ability to use the native keychain autofill experience much like it happens in safari, so that we don't have to use the crappy iCloud Passwords extension and can use passwords and passkeys stored on iCloud.

Chrome does this already with passkeys so I think it should be possible to implement with passwords as well (https://developer.chrome.com/blog/passkeys-on-icloud-keychain).

This would make sense to implement especially with the September releases bringing a more solid password management app to all apple devices, making it less appealing for users to switch towards a third party password manager.

This would make autofill and credential creation much smoother and safer since people can simply use their already saved passwords also if they use a different browser on iOS,

I know this was brought up many times, but maybe it is finally time to make this a feature and gain a competitive edge against other browsers since it would make transition much easier.

Passkeys work completely different to passwords as they are supposed to be created per-device or per-ecosystem, rather than per-browser. Apple has special APIs that allow for passkeys to be shared across the entire ecosystem or device, depending on the user’s selection. They are stored completely differently from passwords. I don’t believe it is possible to directly use the Safari password keychain

Tinholoco Apple does not allow apps writing in each other's keychain. Orion can not write in keychain used by Safari and vice versa. If that is not what you are suggesting, can you please elaborate and cite relevant APIs or examples with other apps doing the same with passwords.

Vlad ahhh that’s a bummer, I thought that with passkeys they opened up the API
