Nevermind, even with 120fps disabled, this still happens. See video

As you can see, the webview refreshes upon switching tabs or resizing the window.

Version 0.99.127.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)
Builddate Mar 26 2024
MacBook Pro 2021, 14 inch, M1 Pro, 16GB RAM
macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (build 23E224)

Moving to a different tab and going back to the youtube video, there were moments when I tab back in that the page just freezes. It happens whether the video is playing or is paused. I can't even scroll, I can three finger swipe to go back but the home page of youtube is unresponsive.

I have to kill the tab and re-open the link for things to go back to normal.

I expected that after I tab back in, I'd be able to scroll down and see the comments or rewind the video

    Orion 0.99.127.1-beta

    Sonoma (14)

Merged 1 post from Youtube freezing after switching to a different window.

This happens to me often and I have not figured out a solution either. I will open a google sheet, and sometimes it will just not respond to my mouse or keyboard visually. But if I go to a different tab of any sort, and then click back, the previous input from my mouse or keyboard will be applied to the sheet. Yet any current mouse or keyboard input will not register again. But I can go to a different tab again, and again, any input will show up.

Compatability mode sometimes fixes it, but sometimes it's already on and it still does it.

Sometimes, they load like normal. I never know what's gonna happen.

        Normal web browser use.

        0.99.127.1-beta

        Ventura (13)

I've experienced the same. 0.99.127.1-rc (WebKit 619.1.1) on Sonoma 14.2.1.

Maybe its the same problem with 7199. It's just that one is happened on RC.

Merged 3 posts from Google Sheets Freezing.

Is there a plan to release a new beta and rc to mitigate this issue? As we have already found the potential root cause. It happens so frequently that makes the user annoying.

This issue caused me to leave Orion.

Experienced most on youtube, but other sites as well. Opening the settings popover would allow the page to render a bit at a time.

elsagranger A new RC update will come next week (or this week iirc) according to @Vlad on the Orion Discord.

Yep, tested it on this dev build, have had no issues for the past couple of days. Thank you so much!

@Vlad Is this fix already rolled out?

I'm sorry to report that I'm still experiencing this issue as originally reported. To Fix it I need to re-open the url in a new tab. Only refreshing the page has no effect.

                    Version 0.99.127.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.1)
                    Build date Apr 4 2024
Mac Studio (macOS Sonoma 14.4 build 23E214)

It is fixed for me but there is a second issue, that is similar but not exactly the same. Sometimes the website loads but I can't click on any link, I have to close and re-open to be able to click on links. I think I can scroll, so the website itself is not frozen, just the links don't work.

The issue is happening really rarely, less than once per day. Is this the same you are seeing @Boedy ?

https://orionfeedback.org/d/7644-unclickable-links-on-website seems similar to what I'm seeing.

I'm also getting the impression this is not fully fixed. I'm experiencing tabs where the cursor disappears, giving the impression things are not clickable. In some cases I can still click things but the cursor is missing and/or it does not change the cursor icon on hover.

I understand this is slightly different than the original bug but it seems to still be related and I didn't want to open another bug report. I can if needed.
