Apologies, didn't see extensions and so on, which I don't think are available through iCloud sync.
Sync profiles, extensions, settings and history across machines
+1 for me as well
I would very much like to be able to sync all my profiles - or just one, or just two. I would like to truly be in control of them.
My main use case is having two profiles: one for personal use, another for work and having the bookmarks, (and perhaps window and tab history) sync between my work laptop and my personal one for both profiles, because these days I may work from home (or may do personal stuff while at the office)
Having website data (like cookies, persistent storage, signed in services an so on) is not that important, signing again in the other machine after profile has been "synced" would be fine for my use case.
This comment by pantulis is exactly how I would expect this feature to work. I suppose having the cookies/storage/sessions be synced could be convenient, but I don't believe any other browser does so, so it would be completely within expectation to not implement such a requirement.
To reiterate, when I create a profile, I would like for it to be synced across my devices (e.g. personal and work Macbooks) with syncing of crucial data such as passwords, bookmarks, history, etc.
Orion is amazing, but is there any way to change the profile selected for sync?
In the profiles window, I don't find this option. And it occurs to me that it is by default a secondary (work) profile and not my personal one.
Currently not possible
Turned into a Suggestion. See u later, guys.
Currently, browser extensions need to be installed manually on each device.
With this feature, the browser would automatically sync the list of installed extensions across all devices associated with the icloud account.
A clear mechanism should be in place to handle potential conflicts if an extension is updated on one device but not another. Perhaps a prompt to update or overwrite would be beneficial
I would be happy with just profile names, tabs, and saved windows. The other stuff is nice to have, but not too much of a burden to recreate on each device.
I just discovered profiles and though: cool, I can separate bookmarks and tabs between my private and my work needs. And then wondered why they aren't syncing. Without the sync they are not so useful imho. So definitely a vote for having profiles synced (with their bookmarks, tabs, and whatever the default profile is syncing).
