Would also love to see this implemented as well!! I love the separation of several profiles, but having multiple icons in the dock gets cluttery. One icon for several profiles like how chromium has it would be great down the road.

        Thank you, Vlad ,
I have also noticed that the current approach allows for different translations in various profiles Although this might not be essential for regular workflows, I believe having a distinct user interface along with icons in the address bar could help remind users which profile they are currently using.

gitarero164 Could be controvercial but I like Orion's implementation of their Profiles.

Arc has few extra steps if I am trying to open a link from one specific profile, I hate doing it everytime.
Also, you can change the icons on each of these profiles, this is just amazing.
I have two Orion profiles, one with the old Safari logo another with a mordern one (yeah, I dont like Orion's icon), but this is just amazing.
Arc on the other hand , if you go fullscreen with a video, both the profile vanishes and that is a deal breaker for my workflow.

          Hope this helps.

Oh hey, I just responded to another thread in regards to multiple profiles:

I use different profiles for a variety of reasons (social media, employment, learning, banking, etc). The amount of icons this produces in Launchpad does add up after awhile. I wish there was an easier way to do this without producing multiple icons for the same browser and still have separate profiles in-browser.

I could hide the icons with Onyx, but that requires disabling SIP protection, which isn't ideal either because it could possibly break something.

New to Orion, so my experience is freshly limited. I landed here in search of a way to copy settings to another profile (may be better to use the default profile's settings, with any in-profile settings to have precidence). For me, Tab poliferation is a serious problem but I've found Safari's implementation difficult to utilize. Inevitably, my ADHD doesn't respect the profile and I end up with a mess of tabs. I've used multiple browsers in the past for discrete tasks that I can toggle to using the app-swither, so I like Orion's implementation (though would like the ability to move an entire window to another profile). Different methods of working should be supported when possible, so perhaps a hybrid approach would work. Something like Collections within a Profile could implement a similar set of features.

Vlad Another direct benefit is that an app crash in one profile does not bring down all other open profiles with it.

This is not the case in my experience. On my machine, clicking on ANY Orion notification instantly crashes every instance of Orion at the same time 🙂

Evaluating Orion for now and the fact that there are 2 icons is difficult to understand for me.

I like arc implementation a lot to manage profiles but important thing finally is to get only one dock icon.
Safari's implementation a good compromise, since it's easy to switch from one window to another once it's executed.

On the other hand, having to think about which profile I want to use in order to choose which icon to click seems counter-intuitive.

I'd second the suggestion to handle profiles closer to Arc or Safari. Multiple dock icons, while I've read the benefits, feels like a cluttered overall UX day to day. Seems like most on here agree.

No? Maybe of the posts in this thread, but separate dock icons is practically the only reason I use Orion. It is the killer feature that no other browser has.

LoganDark Is there a way to choose either or both? I feel the opposite and I'm hesitant on using Orion because of the amount of profile icons. Maybe a compromise would be to also have Firefox-like containers that separate the assets/cookies based on topic and let users choose how they want to use the browsers? I've tried using the Firefox containers add-on but it wasn't working too well and I uninstalled it.

The way I see it, it makes sense to have a clear profile divide in places like Work and Personal. They are totally different subjects for many people. However, within each of those profiles there are different kinds of web traffic, like social media, banking, shopping, etc... It just seems cumbersome to divide those into completely different profiles.

I agree that completely separate profiles is also a killer feature that other browsers don't have -- I just wish there were more granular features as well.

We are quite concerned about privacy, and for us, the only real solution is the complete separation of profiles.

However, the creation of new icons can indeed be unpleasant for some users. We designed this with classic profiles in mind: private, work, very-private ... but not for 30 different profiles.

We may come up with a different solution in the coming months.

Arc uses sliding 'spaces' to move between profiles...that seems very intuitive to me.
