Vlad on Chrome the behaviour is the same as in Safari, i.e. the pages load instantly in dark mode

Steps to reproduce:
Install RES extension (chrome version is the one I use), browse Reddit, pay attention to reddit's top bar: it starts out with glitches, and takes a second or two to fix itself

Expected behavior:
Upon loading reddit.com, or any subreddit, the top menu bar should load instantly without any glitches, like on Chrome and Firefox

Orion and macOS:
Orion 0.99.108-beta and previous, macOS Big Sur & Monterey

In general I noticed the same thing happens with most extensions, like for me i use one that changes the interface of twitch, in chromium the css injected seems to be applied at the end before the page really loads, making stark changes less apparent, but in orion it seems like there is more of a delay leading to the page fully loading and then the css from extensions are loaded...

The same happens with BetterTTV as well, when i move the Twitch chat to the left it takes a while for the css from the extenstion to take effect, making the chat appear on the right, and then after a second it is on the left, in chromium i never had an issue with it, usally the custom css from the extension in loaded at the end before the page can even render making the chat always on the left (as it should). I thought this was related, because both are (seemingly) caused by the same "delay".

Merged 2 posts from RES extension glitches and has a delay "kicking in".

I'm so happy to see this marked as coming soon, as it's the only thing preventing me from making the switch from Safari. It's such an irritating experience to deal with. It's definitely not just Dark Reader, either. I see the same issue with most dark theme pages.

Jeremy I'm on the exact same boat. I can deal with most of the other bugs, but the extension related ones are the only ones preventing me from making Orion my main browser as they're so essential.

        Steps to reproduce:
Enable night mode on old reddit. Reload the page. Alternatively you can open a new tab and open reddit.

Here's how to enable night mode (applies only to old reddit interface since RES itself only deals with old reddit mainly).
        Expected behavior:
On Chrome or Firefox the page loads up in dark mode instantly. That is, there is no flashing, where the page starts out light and then turns dark.
        Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion Version 0.99.112-beta, MacOS 12.2.1, M1 Macbook Air

Can confirm, this has been happening for a long time

            a year later

            Steps to reproduce:
Reddit Enhancement Suite is installed, browsing old Reddit, with Night Mode enabled in the RES settings:

            1. Load any subreddit or page
            2. Page is bright white (light mode default) for a second and the RES controls are missing, then turns dark when the RES extension loads

            Expected behavior:
On other browsers this delay between page load and RES loading never happens, tested on Edge and Firefox. RES is not supported on Safari.

            Orion, OS version; hardware type:
            Orion: Version 0.99.123.3-beta (WebKit 615.1.16.1)
OS: macOS Ventura 13.1 build 22C65
            Hardware: MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

                  Similar to this problem: https://orionfeedback.org/d/1379-white-flash-on-website-load-in-dark-mode
But happens every time I open a new homepage tab and is on the mobile instead of desktop platform.

                  Steps to reproduce:

                  1. Have dark mode on for the Orion mobile browser (looking through the settings I think it's automatically tied to the phone's system setting as I can't find it in Orion's settings, but however you do, get the app to dark mode). Have Orion settings have new tabs open with homepage and set kagi.com as your homepage and have your Kagi respect the system setting for dark/light mode (problem also shows when homepage is set as google.com with its dark mode setting).
                  2. Spend time on a nice dark mode respecting website, like orionfeedback.org
                  3. Open new tab (using plus at bottom of browser).
                  4. Experience bright flash of blank white page while the homepage loads.
                  5. Homepage kagi.com (or google.com) loads returning to appropriate dark mode brightness.

                  Expected behavior:
I did not expect to see a completely white page while in dark mode. The blank page should be changed to a dark color for dark mode to maintain the dark.

                  Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion version 1.2.10, in iOS 16.2; running on an iPhone SE.

                  Image/Video:
Opening a new tab from orionfeedback.org (opening a new tab using plus at browser bottom). Kagi kindly, as I asked it to, respects my dark mode choice, Orion however has a bright white blank page that assaults the eyes during the loading of the page.

Merged 1 post from Dark mode has bright flash every time when loading new tab.

What happened? How did it happen? What are the steps to replicate the issue.
Dark reader has been installed on ios orion. When I use dark mode and open a new tab, I can see that the web page will first turn white and flash for a while and then turn dark, but this will not happen when opening a link on the current page. This is really unfriendly to the eyes at night 😔 There is no such situation when using dark reader in Safari.
