FYI, this is the default chromium implemention. For Orion, the best idea is to add an extensions menu bar item, then have a way to toggle them from there.
Overflow menu for extensions/toolbar items to live in
eirk I figured there should be something like that when I clicked Customize Toolbar, but I don't see anything related to Extensions.
Yeah, there isn't something like that right now. There are only individual extensions when you click Customize Toolbar
. I was saying that as an idea for the developers to implement.

It's really great to have Chrome/Chromium extensions with Webkit! LOVE IT!!!!!
It would be helpful, however, to have a way to hide certain extensions that are not needed to be seen all of the time like Chrome is doing. I have about 25 extensions that I use rather regularly and about 15 of those should be hidden as they work in the background generally. An example of such extensions are:
- Choosy: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/choosy/baecahhpgcpccohoeipmdkkbemhjhfmc?hl=en
- Autofill: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/autofill/nlmmgnhgdeffjkdckmikfpnddkbbfkkk?hl=en
- Display Anchors: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/display-anchors/poahndpaaanbpbeafbkploiobpiiieko?hl=en
- Session Buddy: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/session-buddy/edacconmaakjimmfgnblocblbcdcpbko?hl=en
- Return YouTube Dislike: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/return-youtube-dislike/gebbhagfogifgggkldgodflihgfeippi?hl=en
- Old Reddit Redirect: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/old-reddit-redirect/dneaehbmnbhcippjikoajpoabadpodje?hl=en
You get the idea... These are either extensions that are either passive and work automatically or used infrequently and therefore don't need to be clicked on routinely and muck up the UI.
Just drag them out of the toolbar
Coming in next release
This is quite nice, thanks @Vlad! One thing I might suggest is that instead of having the overflow dots (ellipses) AND the "Manage Extensions" buttons, put an option at the bottom of the overflow dropdown that says "Manage extensions..." in order to allow the user to have a more compact method for getting into manage extensions and thus taking up less space. This will just simply clean it up slightly.
A feature to hide certain extensions (users choice) into a button on the toolbar so it does not take so much space.
For example xbrowsersync once it works is a set it and forget it extension, that would be perfect to be hidden from the toolbar but still installed.
(kind of like chromium browsers do it with the "puzzle" button which shows all the extensions on click.

You can already do this by right-clicking the toolbar, clicking customise toolbar, and dragging your extension into the overflow menu:

srofail Ah i see, my bad in this case have not noticed this option!
If needed, moderator can delete this suggestion.
I cannot drag items into the Overflow Menu while customizing the toolbar. Dragging item into the Overflow Menu section from the toolbar just delete them with the 'puff' animation, while dragging item from the overlay just made them float back into the overlay, not into the Overflow Menu section.
I'm using Version 0.99.120.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20) on MacBook Pro (macOS Ventura 13.0 build 22A380)
