Steps to reproduce:

  • Install the Drafts application if you don't have it already (you can stick with the free tier, no need to subscribe if you aren't already a subscriber)
  • Open a URL in both Orion and Safari
  • Use the share sheet (this works on both Desktop and iOS) to share to the Drafts application
  • Note that Orion shares only the URL. Safari shares the title, URL, and selected text from the page (if you have any text selected)

Expected behavior:
Share sheet from Orion should behave like Safari

    I can see this has not been prioritized too much since 2022, nevertheless I would add my "5 cents" to this as it is indeed quite handy to not only pass page URL to the share sheet but also its title and selected text.

    I guess this would be handy not only for Drafts but also for the other apps that support receiving the page from the browser via Share Sheet.

    Tried this in the latest RC (Version 0.99.126.4.1.4-rc (WebKit 619.1.1)) and for some reason share sheet items are all disabled.

      Today I tried the latest RC, but the issue is still there, share sheet menu items are for some reason disabled. Any ideas why is that?

        Just tried with 0.99.126.4.1.7-rc and I still have all the share sheet menu items disabled.

          Yes I can reproduce, we will check.

          When using Orion's share feature all the choices are grayed out except for Create a QR code. I've tried changing compatibility setting and get the same result. It happens on every site I navigate to. I'm running Orion RC (Version 0.99.126.4.1.7-rc (WebKit 619.1.1)). Here's a screenshot:

              I think this bug was closed after fixing the wrong bug:

              • Done tag added after share sheet items were re-enabled.
              • However: the original bug was Orion only shares the URL, and is missing the title and selected text.

              I found this bug because I would like the title included when sharing a URL.

              • Confirmed title is not shared via Orion share: SimpleNote, Drafts app.
              • Confirmed title is shared via mobile Safari: SimpleNote, Drafts app.
