I got a similar message today with Orion taking 33GB over a handful tabs…
Orion version 0.99.121.0-beta (WebKit 614.1.20) (i.e. saw this before the latest update) running on 2020 MacBook Pro 13" M1 with 16GB RAM.

Please provide steps to reproduce the problem.
Vlad I wish I had specific steps at this point… I've mainly been just using Orion over the last weeks as my main browser with about a dozen tabs open. The tabs are Google Slides, Google Sheets, Whimsical, Fibery and some other random tabs at a time…
If I encounter the problem again, I'll update this. I understand that currently there's noit much that can be done without the ability to reproduce.
I can confirm an increase in memory usage from the latest update. I don't have any specific figures to compare to but my Memory Pressure is now in the yellow running Orion with two tabs open (one being this site and the other being YouTube without a video playing). Previous versions definitely were not like this.
For comparison, this is Safari with the same two tabs open:
This is Brave with the same two tabs open:
This is on an M1 Air on Ventura 13.0 with Orion version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
Hope that's helpful!
I noticed some freezing and slowdowns on Orion while doing some work and this is what I saw in Activity Monitor:
I also had a Memory Leak, but forgot to make a Screenshot. For me, it took 89 GB of Ram. Sadly,Ii can't post the Pages I had opened due to the force quit.
Ok, while I still cannot confirm why/how this happens, I did get this screen again:
I had one Orion profile with 25 tabs open. Hadn't restarted since my last post 10ish days ago.
Orion Version 0.99.121.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
MacBook Pro (macOS Ventura 13.0 build 22A380)
And here, the Diagnostics Report from the Console.
Things to note:
Footprint: 607.30 MB
Footprint: 34.12 GB
Not sure if the second report can indicate what happened, that led to this memory leak.
Maybe that helps?
So many posts here without a single outlining steps to reproduce the problem. Screenshots and other point of time evidence is simply not useful as it tells us nothing.
We need someone to say :
When we have that we'll be able to fix it. Thanks for understanding.
Thank you for some guidance on how to make this issue more understandable for you. I will try to recreate this issue and give more detail.
In the case of the above quoted post, I can tell you exactly what I was doing at the time:
1) Started new Orion session
2) Started working on strings in https://localazy.com/ with the only other tab being orionfeedback.org
3) Started to notice some slowdowns and freezes with spinning beach balls
4) Checked Activity Monitor to see Orion taking over 8 GB on an 8 GB system
5) Memory leak?
I hope that's at least somewhat helpful.
I am currently doing that. I can give you an exact scenario where it causes the memory usage to balloon:
1) Start at https://localazy.com/p/kagi-search
2) Select a language to work on (in my case, Canadian English)
3) Clicking the link will load https://localazy.com/p/kagi-search/phrases/328 but it will freeze for a period of time before displaying strings.
4) Check Activity Monitor to see memory usage increase by 300-400 MB roughly.
5) Repeat this and the memory consumption will continue to increase each time.
This is after testing this for 10-15 minutes:
The memory consumption does appear to increase over time without interaction as well.
I have two extensions installed: Bitwarden and Privacy Badger. I will attempt to re-create this without any extensions enabled and do the same in Safari.
The behaviour does appear to be the same with the extensions disabled. I will try the same with Safari now.
In the case of Safari (completely clean and not ever used), the memory consumption does not appear to 'balloon' as it does in Orion. After around 15 minutes of trying to recreate it this is what Activity Monitor reports:
I should note that I changed number of displayed strings from 10 to 100. Forgot to mention that.
