I frequently clear browsing data. Every time I do that, I have to re-login in Kagi to use Kagi search.

Since the browser provides an inbuilt Kagi search engine, such a hassle seems unnecessary.

So delink both and don't clear Kagi search credentials/token when clearing browsing data.

No. Clearing all data means everything. You don't want "clearing browsing data" which should be everything related to browsing, not clear just one thing. Instead, an option to not clear kagi is better.

Either I wasn't clear enough or you misunderstood. I'll try to explain again in detail.

Orion provides Kagi Search Beta as an inbuilt search engine. However, it cannot be used without login to Kagi search. So to use Kagi search, one has to login to Kagi, but that login credentials data is linked with other browsing data.

I frequently clear browsing data. Every time I do that, this Kagi login credentials is also cleared along with rest of the browsing data.

If I have to login everytime I clear data, it defeats the purpose of an inbuilt search engine.

So I was suggesting to separate the data storage for search engine credential with the rest of the browsing data.
Both should have separate options for clearing data.

Or, an alternative that I propose is, along with all the options already provided in Clear Browsing Data menu option, an additional option Kagi credentials can also be added.

joystmp This is resolved in beta 114 as you can enter your Kagi session token which will make Kagi work in all situations, even in a private window.

Vlad Kagi seems to be missing in beta 114 from the default search engine list.

joystmp Oh 🙂 What is your system and what did you have selected as search engine before?

I had Kagi selected before the update.

I had also manually added Kagi. Removing it has resolved the issue.

Even in beta 114, I still have to login to Kagi every time I clear data.

joystmp Can you define what you mean by clear data? And have you used a session token in Kagi settings?

Vlad I've added the session link https://kagi.com/search?token=***&q=%s in Kagi Settings.

Regarding clear browsing data, following is my settings.

joystmp And after clearing browsing data you can not use Kagi even with session link entered?

Vlad No. I need to login to Kagi every time I clear data.

                        • Vlad replied to this.

joystmp I was not able to reproduce this? If I have the session link entered then I can search even in private window and even if I cleared browsing data.

Vlad Strange. I do not know what's causing this issue for me.

Vlad On further testing, I've found that I need to login only in normal window. I can search in private window without login.
