It would be very nice, if it was possible to set a custom new tab page URL in the settings without needing to install an extension

    felkr This is what new tabs open with option does? (in combination with homepage setting)

        they are asking for a custom url that acts as the new tab page.
        Similar to safari with these settings in the General section:

            @felkr just set "New tabs open with:" to "Homepage"
