So Firefox has a button for Picture in Picture that pops up in the bottom right corner of a video box. Is it possible to add that to Orion. When I switched to Safari, one of the things that annoyed me was how hard it is to get into Picture in Picture mode. You have to right click on a video box twice. I'm just curious if it's a possible feature.

TheAllegedGenius Not quite the same thing in terms of discoverability, but you can access picture-in-picture mode from the view menu, or through the shortcut control + command + p

TheAllegedGenius We prefer not to add content to the web page. Pictunre in Picture is already avaialble as a menu item and a keyboard shortcut as explained.

Came here to ask for this, and learn't it basically already exists. Now I can uninstall Firefox completely.

ukd1 Thanks for your note. What made it not discoverable in the first place? How do we improve?

Vlad tbh, I never looked in menus; in Firefox it's obvious / much more discoverable, as it's an overlay added to videos. If it exists in Safari, I also never noticed it in the menus.

ukd1 Thanks, not sure what exactly to do here. Safari does not have this option, but if it had, it would "live" in the same place as Orion (as we try to follow HIG like Safari).

As a philosophy, we do not want to make a precedent of adding visual controls to the web page. Browser controls should live outside of it.

Great! That works for me too! I also discovered holding down "command" lets you place the PiP window where ever you like (you're not forced to use the corners)

Just came here to ask for this feature and saw that it's already here.

Vlad Actually Safari does have this option and it appears to be missing in your browser. When any video is playing (with audio) a speaker icon appears in the address bar. If you right click on that icon the option to open the video in PiP appears. It's one of the features I've loved about Safari for years and was shocked when this browser was missing it. Anyways, glad to see I can get to it via another method in the mean time.

Thanks! Just discovered Orion today and can't wait to use it more. Love what I see so far!

Orion has the same speaker icon, but we do not have the menu item to open the video in PiP there. Can you open a new suggestion for this?

Perhaps the fact that Safari has been in development for the last 20 years by the world's largest tech company, and that Orion is in beta and built by a small team can help explain this 😉

Thanks for the fast response Vlad

Sure I can open a suggestion for that. Haha, and no worries. I get that you're a small team. It's just that you've managed to get in everything else and I figured there was no way you missed PiP. And sure enough it was in there, just a different spot.

Wasn't even going to post until I read further through this thread and realized no one seemed to know where it was in Safari.
