Hi,

Small bug regarding auto play. When autoplay is disabled in settings, some websites (even if they're in the excluded list) don't autoplay as they should (since they're put in the exception list). This is an odd behaviour since it requires activating autoplay everywhere for it to function properly.

Regards,

You need to put in www.youtube.com, then it works.

@Ahmed Provided this solves it for you, what could have we done differently in UI so you would achieve what you wanted in your first attempt?

Website settings is exactly made to control all aspects of the site's settings including autoplay. You found the correct option, but it was not clear that youtube uses www.youtube.com domain (which is different than youtube.com).

Maybe, an option could be to use wildcards, eg *.youtube.com, where * as a wildcard, so all subdomains of youtube would have autoplay enabled.

Depending on the direction of travel here, the public suffix list could be used to recognise that YouTube.com isn't an effective TLD, so every subdomain of YouTube.com sits in the security context of YouTube.com.

There's a trade-off here between usability and granular control here though.

        a year later

IDK about all the sub-domaining but every time a tab has https://www.youtube.com main domain, will always Autoplay after starting the browser if YouTube tabs was in the last session, don't even have to reload the page just using previous or next tab commands will trigger Autoplay even if the Auto Play is set to Never Auto-Play on All Sites.
