Change “Allow All Auto-Play” behavior to block music and video playback until the corresponding tab is activated. It is currently not possible to open multiple YouTube links in the background without them playing all at once, which is annoying. Ideally, videos should only start playing when I click on the new tab. What I described is how “Allow All Auto-Play” behaves in all other browsers.

For reference, Firefox has the setting media.block-autoplay-until-in-foreground which is enabled by default for autoplay. https://support.mozilla.org/gl/questions/1171104

P.S. I suggested this on Discord before but I’m including it here for completeness and visibility.

    Hi,

Latest RC Version 0.99.109.1.5-beta (WebKit 613.1.12),
I was wondering if it was possible to only 'autoplay' when the content is made active,

Example (allow autoplay on YouTube) and open a video in a new tab, the video will start playing even if you aren't in that tab; Safari for example only plays the video when you get into the tab.

    Regards,

Ahmed We keep Safari's behavior as it is often useful to save battery on laptops.

Vlad Yes, I get that; but safari plays the video only when the tab's active; Orion play it even if you aren't yet in the tab if auto play is enabled..
