    • I'd love something like this, so I can set a global setting for Orion to tell websites to prefer the light theme, rather than just using the system default. My use case is that I prefer my operating system to be in dark mode, but I think many websites look better in light mode, so I'd like to be able to override the default dark theme, ideally with a global setting in Orion, but also per-website when necessary.

Something like forcing prefers-color-scheme: light even when dark mode is enabled on the OS.

      • @Vlad resurrecting this post, but I wonder if there’s a way to tell a website to prefer light mode, while keeping the browser chrome in dark mode?

My use case is I use dark mode for the operating system, but I want websites to load in light mode. A lot of websites seem to want to match my system setting, but it would be nice if Orion could tell them that I want prefers-color-scheme: light when they load?

Ideally this would be a default setting as well as a per-website setting?

        • I've changed the app icon by going to Orion -> Settings -> Appearance, and selecting the second icon in the list.

This icon only seems to show correctly while the app is open.

          Reproduce:

          1. Set a different icon by going to Orion -> Settings -> Appearance
          2. Notice the new app icon is shown in the Dock.
          3. Quit the app, you'll see the icon reverts to default.
          4. Re-open the app, you'll see the icon changes back to the one you selected.

          Demo:

I'd expect the changes to the app icon to persist even if the app isn't running.

          • I've noticed similar but different behaviour - choosing a different app icon in the settings works, but only while the app is open. If I quit the app, the icon on the Dock returns to the default again. If I then re-open the app, the icon changes to the one I selected again.

So it seems the custom icon is only set when the browser us running?

I can open a different topic about this if you would prefer @Vlad ?

            • I was wondering if it could be done "nicely", maybe a special section that made it clear the extensions would be available in all profiles, but yeah I totally get what you mean, probably better to keep everything separated/isolated on purpose, so there's no risk of accidentally leaking data.

              • It would be useful to be able to configure some extensions to be "global". I use multiple profiles so I can be signed in to some websites with different account levels, but I need to use 1Password with all of the profiles. Currently I need to configure the 1Password extension multiple times, once per profile, even though it's the same account, so it could be useful to have an option where I could configure this extension once, and have that available to all profiles.

Not sure if this would be possible really, but I thought I would share the idea nontheless.

                • Yeah, I actually deleted it and created one named Dev & Test instead, which seemed to work.

                  • I created a new profile and the name was DEV/TEST. Although this displayed correctly in the UI, it confused the Finder, as on disk the profile's app got created in a subfolder called DEV and within that was Test.app as the name. Seems like the forward slash was being interpreted literally by the filesystem as a path separator and should be escaped?

I'd expect the profile's app to be created directly in the profile folder, named DEV/TEST.app, rather than a DEV sobfolder created within the profile folder, with an app named TEST.app inside that.
