    • Came here to say that I've tried to use Orion on iOS multiple times (for first-class Kagi support) and every time I try it, the singular reason I switch back to Safari is the Vinegar extension. It might seem like a trivial feature, but forcing the native player on any sites that try to give me their crappy video "experiences" is so valuable to me that I will choose a Safari solely over that feature, even if Kagi is better in every other way.

Sadly, I have not been able to find a Vinegar equivalent for chromium-based browsers. It would be fantastic if Kagi could provide this feature out of the box. My hot take is that I don't even think it should be a power-user feature but rather the default experience (opt-out in settings). Give websites and companies an inch and they take a mile - there is a native video component for a reason, it offers best-in-class (and predictable) support for features. Imagine if every website tried to make their own text box component instead of using the native one, what a nightmare. Skip the ads, skip the crappy JS video player.

If Orion can implement this (or enable Safari extension support) I will immediately switch over.
