    • Also see the very good tab naming implementation in Tabs Outliner chrome extension. It is an overlay, so we can see our custom name and also the real title.

The best argument for renaming is that tab groups are clunky, difficult to use and not nestable or drag and drop, have a different context/UI, etc.

Tabs tree is very fast. If we could create a great many tab nests in a tab group, and name them and save them, we could have a whole lot of organization.

In Tabs Outliner, this effectively collapses three annoyingly discrete overlapping browser functions into a single entity: bookmarks, tabs and history.

I have 20-30k tabs, by project or topic, most I have not opened in forever but they are there when I need them. This may sound crazy if you have not tried it, but Tabs Outliner has 100k users who swear by this way of working.

Orion is the first browser to have native tree tabs, and lacks only a few more details from TO to allow me to kick the chrome habit for good.
