  • Hide https:// in address bar even when show full website address is selected. This is the default behaviour across major browsers like Safari and Chrome. Firefox has also implemented this recently. This reduces clutter in the address bar as the https status is already represented by the padlock icon. To go a step further, www can also be hidden like in Chrome.

      1. Have only 1 tab open
      2. Open a second tab (the tab bar will show)
      3. Mouseover the first tab, you will see background.fill issues.

I expected the tab's border to not overlap the other tabs.
The workaround for this is to click on the first tab, then the highlighting issues will go away.

      • Steps to reproduce:

        1. Disable: Settings->Appearance->Show Profile in Address Bar
        2. Open a website with a long url (Amazon could work)
        3. You will see that the padding is a little off..

I expected the left and right sides to have equal padding.

Double click to fill password fields on a website.

          Steps to reproduce:

          • Open Login page for any website
          • Click on Passwords
          • Try double clicking (it does not work)

In Safari keychain, you can double click. But in Orion, you cannot.

            • The "Start Page" tab title does not immediately show upon creating a new tab. (Either by pressing Command-T or Plus Button on toolbar)

            • Safari DOES NOT have a delay

Here is a video showing it:

I expected the Start Page title to show immediately.

            • Steps:

              1. Download Unhook (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/youtube-recommended-videos/)
              2. Open YouTube

              What I expected:

              • I expected ZERO thumbnails or video titles.
              • I need a blank recommendation screen.
              • Seeing the thumbnail for a second gives me enough time to read some parts; and if I come across something interesting, it makes me want to disable Unhook to see what it is. Then I end up wasting time YouTube.

              • I was trying to login to shopandship.com with Orion but nothing was happening when I was clicking login. The login window would close and the login button stops working. I have to click on the shopandship logo to reload the page and then try agsain but same issue. It kinda crashes after I try to login. Eventually Orion just wouldn't load the page anymore so I thought the issue was with the website. But then I thought of checking with Safari and the page loaded and I was able to login just fine. I went back to Orion but page wouldn't load. I quit and came back in but same issue, page just won't load anymore in Orion.

I then tried to open it in the RC release and it worked, the page loaded. But then when I tried to login the same issue happened. Orion can't seem to work with shopandship.com

I'm attaching video showing how the page loads fine in safari but stopped loading in Orion.

Note: I've been running into so many random little bugs with Orion I'm not sure if I just submit them all or not since I don't want to seem like I'm complaining or spamming.

I expected to be able to login to shopandship.com.

                • Orion 0.99.130.2-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2) under MacOS 12.7.6.

If I enter anything in the URL bar without hitting <return>, then go to another tab, my partial entry is erased from the URL bar on the tab I was working on. Here's an example: I'm shopping for a computer, and I want to convert $6,989 in Canadian dollars to US dollars. I go to a new tab and put convert 6, but that's as far as I get before I forget the amount. So I go back to the shopping tab: Oh yeah, $6,989. But then when I go back intending to finish my entry (convert 6989 CAD to USD), the text I put in the URL bar is gone. I have to start over again:

Might not seem like a big deal, but one's short-term memory is not always at its best. As far as I know, no other browser self-deletes partial URL bar entries like this.

Here's Safari, which retains a partial URL bar entry indefinitely; it persists through tab shifts:

The Safari treatment is not quite perfect, in that clicking once in the URL bar so as to have a cursor there to finish the entry selects the entire contents of the URL bar, and one must click again to deselect and put the cursor at the end of the existing part of the URL bar text—this might be configurable; I forget. I don't use Safari much.)

                    • This is a minor issue but it doesn't happen in Safari
                    • When use horizontal tabs, and go from 1 tab to 2 tabs, then switch back to the first time, the web view resizes down to accomodate for the new tab/toolbar height.
                    • Here is a video, the web view resizes for a split second when switching back to the first tab.

                    Orion:

                    Safari:

                    • Orion should automatically resize the initial web view when creating the second tab (which causes the tab bar to show) rather than resize when I go back to the first tab.

                    Version 0.99.130-beta (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4)

                    Sequoia (15)

                    • Steps to reproduce:

                      • Open a tab and play any media on it
                      • Open a second tab, and look at the volume icon.
                      • Open a third tab, look at the volume icon and the seperator. They seem oddly close.

                      Problem:

                      • The volume button is way to close to the edge. I believe it must move slightly to the left
                      • Just a little to the left...

                      ^^ Too close!!!

                      • However, the issue seems to be a little subjective to the individual. So I wonder what you guys think, whether or not this is an issue.
                      • I personally think it should be moved 2-4 pixels to the left.

                      • I believe screen space is very important on mobile devices. Compared to PCs, the area of phone screens is limited. In the current version, when Orion hides the toolbar, the height used to display the address bar is even slightly higher than Safari. This height should be lower or match Safari's behavior completely

                          • I have a tab with a very long title
                          • I hover over it to see the tooltip, but instead I get 2 tooltips which overlap each other
                          • I would remove the tab title (longer one's) tooltip and only show that taller tooltip.

                          • Only one tooltip to show, preferably the taller one.

                          • I opened 3 speedometer tabs. One with uBlock Origin enabled (with orion content blocker and intelligence tracking prevention disabled, but compatibility mode turned off). Second was uBlock disabled, with Orion's content blocker and intelligence tracking prevention turned on. Last one was compatibility mode.

I click between the 3 tabs, and it is slow.

Fast tab switching. At proper speed.

                            • Since upgrading to the current Orion, my tabs are showing the primary domain favicons, not those for the subdomain of the tab. This is especially obvious because I have mail.google.com, calendar.google.com, and messages.google.com next to each other.

Also, my kite.kagi.com tab is showing the main Kagi icon, not the Kite icon.

                              (My pinned tabs).

This is most obvious for these pinned tabs, but I have at least one unpinned tab showing the same behavior.

Tabs should show the favicon of the narrowest subdomain, so I can tell them apart.

                              • Add a translate this page feature to Orion that uses Kagi Translate. Similiar to Summarize Page, a user should be able to right-click and select Translate Page. It would also be nice to include a translate button at the end of the url bar, similar to Safari.

                                • URL bar option
                                • Righ-click context menu
                                • When clicking on the URL bar, I can see my Favorites and Frequently Visited. I would like the ability to drag a site from the Frequently Visited into the Favorites section. Or a right click menu

                                    1. Open Orion.
                                    2. Enter Mission Control using the trackpad gesture (three or four fingers swiping up), the mission control key, or Ctrl + Up Arrow (https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/open-windows-spaces-mission-control-mh35798/mc)

Kagi's bounds as displayed by Mission Control are much larger than expected.

Here is Kagi; note how the blue rectangle is much larger than the Kagi window:

I expected the bounds to fit the window, like they do for Safari:

                                    • Brief Summary
To add an option in the settings to put the horizontal tab bar on top of the tool bar.
                                      See image.

                                      Details:
I come from Brave and Firefox and im used to have the tab bar on top of the tool bar. so if this could be added it would be nice.
Sorry if this has been asked before, I searched and didnt find anything.

                                      Image/Video:

                                      • Pinned tabs are great, however they are shown way to small with respect to regular tabs, and their order changes as you switch between them which makes not a lot of sense because I want my pinned tabs to be always in the same position and much more visible.

                                        • It would be really cool to have a feature similar to Brave where it shows how many ads/trackers and how much bandwidth/time you have saved. It would add a little extra differentiation from other browsers and its something that is really cool. You always see posts on twitter and other social medias of users posting their Brave dashboard and it gives great exposure too Brave.

Having something like that within Orion may help with marketing as it is something that is cool and fun to observe/share.
