  • Interesting, checking for updates and I'm still on the beta. Fingers crossed the RC does fix the issue.

    • I don’t think it will solve all issues, certainly not where apple does something bespoke etc (maps). But I believe it will help on websites that have more generic implementations and stop accidental pinches (a huge frustration of mine personally). I was having no issue with Miro, Lucid, or Figma (I think) when using browsers without this pinch to switch tab mechanic.

Personally I think the pinch to switch tab toggle is a good first step. If that solves x% of the problems that’s still an improvement for presumably little effort. I’d rather that now, than wait a year for something perfect.

      • What I need is just the ability to disable the pinch to zoom default behaviour, which is to launch the tab switching UI. Once that's disabled, I can then use those tools as usual I believe. Vlad, could you consider a single check box to disable default tab switching gesture control?

      • Stylus works but occasionally completely crashes the browser when trying to modify styles. I'm not sure on the conditions to replicate it, but even restarting the browser with the same tabs open seems to cause the crash repeatedly. I have to close all tabs and then it usually works.

-- Edit: as of now, I simply cannot get Stylus to work at all when trying to edit a style. Tried both Firefox and Chrome versions.

I guess rather than raise the bug, I'd prefer to request a fully supported version of Stylus within Orion.

        • A number of websites now use pinch gestures to zoom in on their canvas, e.g. Lucid, Miro. Those pinch gestures are interpreted by Orion as being page zoom in/out (or to show tab view), which makes using those websites much more difficult and can cause rendering problems (page partially zoomed in when it shouldn't).

If there was the ability to either:

          a) turn pinch to zoom on/off as a global setting, or
          b) turn pinch to zoom on/off on a domain level

this would completely negate those negatives. This is for Desktop, as I believe Mobile now has a feature that achieves the same outcome.

          • Just downloaded the new version for the desktop and this feature isn't there. Is this feature just for mobile? I kinda wanted it on the mac too (it's a pain on desktop with anyone using a trackpad).

            • Vlad replied to this.
            • Happens to me, but when I restart everything works fine.
              Now seems to work.

              • Definitely more of an annoyance. Many collaborative web apps (Mural, Lucid etc) now use pinch gestures to navigate, but no longer work because of the gesture control that cannot be turned off in the browser overrides it.
