    • Clearing the cache does not clear the favicon cache. It should be cleared.

I demonstrated you how I know for certain it hasn't been cleared. The folder holding these favicon are still populated with the cached data and I have to manually delete those files. This means that the browser does not clear anything inside that folder even when we take action to do so.

So clearing the cache should clear the favicon cache!!!

      edit:

This is the folder I am talking about: /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Orion/Defaults/Favicon Cache

You can test this on your system:

Go on various websites and then clear every cache and website data. Type a previously visited website (ex. www.amazon.com in this case) and you will see amazon being suggested alongside its favicon, this means that I haven't hit enter to go on that website. That is not normal behavior for a browser that has had it's data cleared. Furthermore, the favicons are not fetched from website I haven't visited so I know for certain they are being pulled from that cached folder. Once that folder is cleared, then it doesn't show the favicon for the suggested website.

    • Just to update this still hasn't been resolved...

      Despite clearing everything supposedly:

I still get favicons for website I have visited prior to clearing the cache:

To show that this isn't an isolated case, here's a website I did not visit prior to clearing the cache:

So to make everything clear, once a website is visited, the browser keeps the favicon in it's cache indefinitely which is not normal behavior considering if the user decides to CLEAR the cache. It should default to clearing any data associated to any site visited.

      /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Orion/Defaults/Favicon Cache
This is the folder where favicons are supposedly cached in. Clearing this folder manually removes every favicon of every website. This also includes bookmarked websites and favorites.

The expected behavior for clearing the cache of the browser should be that any data left by any visited website should be cleared, including the favicon. Favicons for sites that are favorited or bookmarked should be omitted out of this action. This is how it is done on other browsers that I have used.

      • As you can see, despite clearing my cookies and cache, websites favicon are still cached and not cleared when I type in the full url:

        • Although this has been labelled as "done". It is still the case on my laptop that Orion is no clearing the caches inside those folders.

Can anyone else test on their machine if it is producing the same issue?

          • Steps to reproduce:
Tried using AirPlay on my AirPlay enabled speakers from a YouTube video but it either crashes the browser, or it just plays the video from my MacBook speaker. Sometimes it just hangs but the audio is still playing on the MacBook...

I tried using Compatibility Mode with no success. It does however work on Safari. I also tried on another website (fmovies.app) with the same issue.

If I recall it used to work on the previous version because I have used it on that last site.

            Expected behavior:
Video should play on my MacBook with the audio coming out of my AirPlay enabled speakers.

            Orion, OS version; hardware type:
            Orion: Version 0.99.122-beta (WebKit 615.1.11.7)

            • Are there ay updates on this feature? It's been a few months now...

              • Shouldn't history clearing also clear all cache?

In my opinion, it's an odd behavior that it doesn't and should be changed.
