laiz can confirm that this is the case, in dark mode the whole tab bar is tinted.

In the latest RC, having a fresh install and being on a fresh macOS Sonoma 14.5 install I experienced having a vertical white bar on the top left side of the tab bar in compact mode. This does not appear to other tab modes, as compact is the only one tinting in the websites header colors.

Steps to reproduce: Install clean Orion RC Install with latest update, enable compact tabs and window tinting.

The same behaviour applies to iCloud Keychain Plugin, it does not insert username and passwords leaving a blank space.

Yes, I'd also love a slim approach to this issue similar to e.g. Brave.

Vlad No, I wanted to say that it appears randomly on every webpage I visit, there are no specific webpages that work or do not work. The same page could work instantly on one day and be unclickable on the next day.

@Vlad Might this be the cause of webpages becoming irresponsible? This bug, paired with the memory leaks at the moment, seem to be my main issues / most annoying things besides a perfect browsing experience. I've read that the irresponsiveness of webpages bug has been around for some time now.

b3noit Yes I also tried to connect my Orion Account with Discord today and it didn't work for me either, had to use Safari.

tinca funny enough the website you posted above works perfectly for me on first try, so this seems to be pretty random. I came back here because I just visited a webpage that instantly became uninteractive lmao.

I don't have any webpages to contemplate, but this issue also happens to me quite frequently.

oxi_moron Yes I can confirm that this happens randomly on every webpage for me. It happens e.g. on Amazon and Seeking Alpha. I can't click anything, the tab is dead.

cpt Did you disable the native Orion blockers? I had those interfering with uBlock on my device.

I also experience this issue. What helped for me is: Disable Orion's Tracking Protection and Content Protection and just use uBlock Origin.

Vlad ??? Install Orion, browse completely random websites side by side with Safari and get 18x the memory usage from graphics engine while doing the exact same stuff? How the f am I supposed to tell you even further how to reproduce this? I just browse random stuff and the memory increases. No addons, no iCloud, nothing. Fresh install.

Vlad @fuli I did a clean Orion Install on a new macOS user and browsed the web for 15 minutes with various websites (reddit, WSJ, my university page, Youtube) and got the following memory stats:

As you can see, Orion RC Graphics and Media is 18 times the memory than Safari Graphics and Media. I made sure to do the exact identical websites and clicks on both browsers side by side at the same time.

Subjectively the memory increases more drastically when visiting websites with GIFs, Autoplay Videos and Media.

fuli I didn't have time setting up Orion from scratch but I also disabled every addon and it is still increasing with usage over hours. The highest I got was 5.5GB just from Graphics and Media. It's clearly leaking memory at some point and I got the feeling that it leaks faster if I browse reddit for example, where media is loaded.

I experience the same issue with Graphics and Media taking very much memory.

Vlad Apparently this is a problem with uBlock Origin, yes. By the way the Adobe Acrobat extension to view PDFs in the browser also does not seem to work. Do you know if this is a known issue?

Vlad additional information: PDF download on my university site is only broken with the Chrome Version of uBlock Origin. Installing the Firefox version enables to PDF download in the right format.

I'd also hop in this thread giving my 2 cents. I would also love a vertical tab bar that is a bit more narrow, like the ones in Brave / Edge behave. Imo the tab group and the permanent "close tab X" are taking way too much space in the vertical tab sidebar.
