Using Orion RC Version 0.99.130.5-rc (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4) I cannot access any internal (to my network) webpages such as my Synology NAS or router.

When I select any bookmark the page does not load.

These work fine in both Safari and Orion Beta Version 0.99.130.2-beta (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4).

I am using macOS Sequoia and have confirmed that Orion RC has access to my network in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

I expect the pages to load as it does with Orion Beta

Same issue here after updating to Orion 0.99.131. I can't access anything on my local network. The address bar looks like it's starting to load and then just hangs.

Setting Compatibility mode resolves whatever it is that isn't working.

You are right - setting compatibility mode works for me as well

MAscooby I was having the same problems with Orion 0.99.131 not loading pages on my local network, and enabling compatibility mode for my home server's hostname fixed the loading for me as well.

Interestingly, I use the ".home" domain for my local network and I noticed that the pages would load with compatibility mode disabled when accessed via http://server.home/admin but not when accessed via http://server/admin (the latter format is what I am using for all of my bookmarked home network services)

@smftko @ParkerLewis as we can't reproduce it on our side yet, would you be able to try isolate which part of compatibility mode helping you resolve the issue as well as trying clean profile?

Is it content blocking, tracking prevention or something else? Isolating it would help us investigate. Thanks!

nrudnyk - Well I am trying to make it work but the latest Orion RC is beachballing on my computer. I haven't been running it much since the update of Feb 24 and focusing mostly on Orion Beta version Version 0.99.131.0.1-beta (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4). On that version with uBlock Origin, SponsorBlock for YouTube, Noir, iCloud Passwrods, and Downie installed it will access my local network web portals without issue.

Is it possible to download and install the previous release of Orion RC to test? Should I try and completely uninstall Orion RC and reinstall to see if I can get it to work?

I have attached the crash report generated when I force quit Orion RC.

smftko - With a complete removal and reinstall of Orion RC it is now working on local network web pages (like my NAS and router). However I can't install iCloud Passwords from the Chrome Store so I can't replicate all the extensions I was using before.

Let me know if there is something else I can try/test.

As an update I was able to install iCloud Passwords by using the file from the Orion Extensions Folder (in Library/Application Support/Orion

I had this same problem with 0.99.131.0.1-beta, I solved it by going to the uBlock origin settings and disabling the "Uncloak canonical names" setting (which i think is only available on the firefox version).

I can confirm that this is a regression in either 0.99.131 or 0.99.131.0.1, it was working fine in the previous version

Edit: I forgot that orion addons don't always auto-update, updating uBO to 1.62 also fixed the issue, so this might have been a uBO bug

It is working with the latest Orion RC - Version 0.99.131.2-rc (WebKit 621.1.2.111.4)

                    a month later

I am running version 0.99.132-beta (17 march 2025) and i have the same issue...

Cant access local systems by IP or hostname/hostname.domain...
                    (not running ublock btw)

@polleke69 thank you for reporting this! Would you be able to help us reproduce this and share more info and maybe steps to reproduce? Also, could you look into Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and see whether you've granted required permissions? Thanks!

                      Dough! missed that one...

                      Thanx
