In the latest TestFlight build, swiping to close tabs in grid view will sometimes close the next row above on the right of the tab you’re actually trying to close. This bug can also cause the erroneously closed tab to become stuck in the UI as seen in video.

The swiping close of a tab in grid view should only have its action point be for the selected tab and not one above it and to the right

Hi 0xChain, thank you for taking the time to report this bug!

I've been trying to reproduce this issue but haven't had any success. Would you be able to give me more info?
If I understand correctly, you were trying to close the "Namecheap" tab by swiping left, but it was actually the "Checkout - Lightning" tab that moved left, and got stuck?

How often does that happen to you? is there a way to reproduce this issue consistently?
Have you conitinued to see the same issue in more recent builds?

Thank you for your help in making Orion a better browser!

jeanetienne hello! How many open tabs did you test this with? It seems to occur once there is more than 4-6 open tabs and you try closing the 7th or more, etc. It is intermittent, so you will need to just leave some open tabs, exit browser, come back and try to close a tab. One other thing is the tab might "disappear" like it is closed, but the next row of tabs doesn't drop down. Then if you click where the swiped tab was at the tab becomes unhidden and it seems it was never removed. Then second swipe seems to actually remove it and the tabs drop down properly into place.

0xChain Yes, I tested with 7+ tabs open and couldn't reproduce the issue you explain. For the first time I saw it with only 3 tabs open earlier today.
It's clearly an annoying glitch, and I'd like to find a fix for it, but it's too hard for me to reproduce yet.

I'll leave this ticket open until someone can find clear reproducible steps.

I can reproduce this 100% of the time. Rapidly closing tabs (via a right to left swipe) causes others to not close when swiped while the animation is playing. Sometimes the wrong tab is closed, and sometimes tabs are resurrected.

This has been occurring for while but I'm currently on version 1.3.19 (2) on both a iPhone 13 pro (iOS 18.3) and iPad Air 4th gen (iOS 18.3.1)

        No one is typing
