Issues encountered when placing the address bar at the top

The stuttering of the visuals caused by slowly dragging the page upwards

I will demonstrate this issue using two websites. You can see that quickly scrolling the page has no issues; the address bar at the top hides smoothly as the page scrolls. However, when I slowly scroll the page, the toolbar at the top of the page feels "stuttery" as it moves with the page. In contrast, using the same scrolling method in Safari and Chrome does not result in any stutter.

Visiting certain websites can make the font in the status bar unclear (time and signal text), such as on github and orionfeedback.org

The website's bottom bar does not stay at the very bottom.

When visiting websites like Twitter or YouTube that have a bottom category bar, the bottom bar does not scroll to the very bottom.

And these issues do not occur when the address bar is at the bottom, they should not happen when the address bar is at the top either

Vlad Of course, both Safari and Chrome retain this option, allowing users to choose whether the address bar is at the top or bottom.
In Safari, you can go to the Settings app - Safari - Tabs, and then select Single Tab to set the address bar at the top

fish I think we want to deprecate the option to have addres bar on top, because it is arguable not used by many people.

Vlad Haha, actually, I saw someone complaining on a forum in our country. Their exact words were: "Who was the genius that invented putting the address bar at the bottom of mobile browsers? It looks awkward and feels uncomfortable to use."

What I want to say is that while some people might prefer having the address bar at the bottom for practicality, there are also quite a few people who like it at the top. It's not that no one uses it that way. Chrome, Edge, and Firefox all offer this option. Although Orion currently doesn't have as many users as these well-established browsers, in the future, as Orion becomes more refined and moves towards public testing, there will always be a variety of users around the world who will appreciate this setting😃
