  • [Regression] iOS address bar no longer show websites favicon, instead showing 'Aa'

  • BugsMobileDone

Maybe an option should be added in the appearance settings for users to choose whether to display website icons.

This is intentional as we found many users didnt find it intuitive to find the menu under a favicon.

I like this idea the most

What about adding a tiny hamburger menu beside the favicon? Or like three vertical dots?

I actually like the favicon a lot. Maybe there’s a way to indicate there’s a menu under it?

You all have an ‘Aa’ button? I have a different icon.

I wonder how many users found the icon a useful visual cue to reduce mental load when flipping between numerous web pages 🙋‍♂️. Once you click the menu once, you know it’s there.

Perhaps a short walk-through when the app is first opened would be more effective?

artemvmin I agree that is nice, we need discoverability that does not require a tutorial

Vlad The toolbar items are discoverable because they are (A) icons, and (B) blue. The website options menu was previously separated by a vertical bar to make it look somewhat like a button. Are there any UI tricks (e.g. coloring, depth) that can be employed like option (B) without necessarily requiring the use of an explicit icon (A)?

This iconic feature is returning in the next release. The picture was shared by Vlad on Kagi Discord 🥳
