With the exception of the first pinned tab, other pinned tabs do not show favicons. Additionally, when CMD + T and new tab, URL bar has random or last favicon from last active tab.

Favicons should populate with appropriate cached favicon. New tab should not have previous tab favicon.

EDIT:

  • Vertical tab layout, but the inverse is true on standard layout with new tabs.
  • Unpin/Re-pin still shows no favicon.
  • Unpinning tab restores favicon.
  • Reset Orion (except extensions/settings) has no change.
  • Some unpinned tabs show favicon when pinned, but not consistent (some revert to default globe).
  • Noted that favicons showed after some time of random usage, but then same behavior as above after restarting app.

Work-around: Set tab layout to standard, refresh pinned tabs to fetch favicons, set back to vertical... but loses favicon on app restart.

    Also able to reproduce this when using compact tabs. If a link/bookmark/favorite is opened in the same tab, the wrong icon issue happens consistently. Opening links in new tabs work as expected.

      I am able to reproduce the issues with the following steps:

      1. Create a new profile and set a search engine (any)
      2. Create a new tab (Total 2 tabs should be open)
      3. Open any website, say from the favorites.
      4. Note that the icon is not visible.
      5. Close the tab.
      6. Note that the icon is visible in the focused search bar.

        Same bug on Favicons with pinned tabs on Vertical layout. No issues when visiting other websites, it appears that the favicons are just not being loaded, or saved (opening the pinned tab doesn’t load the favicon for me)

          Same issue for me on latest RC with vertical tabs

            Pinned tabs lose their favicon after some period of disuse.
