Option to disable recently closed tabs

Recently closed tabs work effectively as history, but are unable to be disabled. It should either be lumped with history, or be its own option.

Could you elaborate on what exactly you mean by this? Perhaps an example of a different browser that implements this in the way you prefer?

On holding the plus icon, a list of the previously closed tabs appears. This acts effectively as a history proxy even though I have history disabled. It cannot be manually cleared without clearing site data. I would rather have it only last for the current session, or be able to be disabled like history.

So, just to clarify would either of these be a good fix for your issue?
