The new Summary bar could be better integrated into the browser.
This is just my humble opinion, but I've made a few suggestions in passing 🙂

Thanks for great mockups. Can you expand on what is wrong with current implementation and what is your favorite implementation?

      Hey @Vlad !
Functionally, I don't see any problem with the current solution.
Aesthetically, I have the impression that the designer of Mozilla Thunderbird has added a feature to Safari 🙂

As for the choice, that depends on Orion's future ambitions.
My favorite is the last one (icon in the toolbar) for the following reasons:

      1. Non-invasive and friction-less
      2. Page-independent (size, colors, etc.)
      3. Search engine branding
      4. Allows services to evolve with fewer ergonomic constraints
      5. Aesthetically more modern

I haven't explored this in depth, but one could also imagine adding these features to the current orion Sidebar and adding Kagi's features to the current Bookmarks & Readinglist Sidebar's, but I'm afraid there's not enough room.
But it would be a pretty natural integration.

Two other examples of good integration (Chrome & Edge):

The Kagi icon is intriguing - I think we can think bit more about having that on by default. What would happen when the user clicks the Kagi icon?

We have actually used all the native controls and followed HIG. Not to say that we can not improve aesthetically @bg-d would you like to give another pass at this if you think it can be improved?

I think Arc Browser has handled this situation well with their menu.
All kagi-specific functionalities could be integrated.

Including access to your account if you're logged in. But I have a vision of a Kagi × Orion ecosystem where each brand serves the interests of the other. I'm not sure what your long-term goal is 🙂

Trying out Zen Browser, I notice that they've included a customizable side bar that looks a bit like what I was proposing. They've taken their inspiration from what Microsoft does, not Safari, but it allows you to test the principle a little:

Zen/Chrome/Edge definetely do not look native for macOS and look like Windows inspired designs. What Arc is doing is bit closer but their desidn is also not native. Can you find an example from an existing Apple app on macOS that would best represent what you have in mind?

I think it's this variant, because this way you can develop an extension for chrome/firefox/safari(?) and limit the code you need to maintain. Only unknown: can the popup be sticky ?

For something more apple-like-but-not-too-much, maybe the Window Sidebar does the trick ?

Popups can not be sticky. Using Summary as a sidebar is something we already do. Can we identify the problem we are trying to solve?
