I updated my Orion RC to the latest version and noticed that the window switcher element is missing in the vertical tabs sidebar. Compare in image Orion RC (left) to latest Orion beta (right).
The window switcher element should be visible in the vertical tabs sidebar.

Same on sonoma 14.5.
Also, its still there, just invisible. I can interact with it just fine.
If this is bugging anybody, this is the download link for the previous RC version, 128.1-rc:
Sidebar, for vertical tabs, bookmarks, windows, etc, also is fully opaque, not transparent as it should be
I can still open the popover. But there is no button visible.
There should be a button to open the tab group popover in the blank area.

The tab group drop down menu in the sidebar when in vertical mode disappeared in desktop version 0.99.128.1.1.1-rc. It still has functionality just no visual indication.
It should be there visually like previous versions.

Latest RC udpdate seems to have broke the element that existed above the tabs in vertical sidebar mode. I don't immediatelly remember the name of this element (maybe the window / tab group picker?), but you can still click in the area and interact with it, it seems just a visual bug.
Version prior to this had the UI element fully visible and functional. This update broke visibility, but not functionality. FWIW, I actually quite like the interface without the visibility if the blank space was not there.
