I am using this browser for about a week and it keeps crashing all the time without a reason. I am using MacOS 15 beta 3, but it was crashing with Sonoma regardless. I updated to the latest browser version: 0.99.128.1-beta. Here's the error pastebin: Would highly appreciate any help regarding the matter, really like the software, but the crashing part pisses me off. Happens few times per day

    Could you go more into detail on how the crashes happen? Some questions that came to my mind:

    • Has Orion been running for an extended period of time?
    • Are you using any extensions?
    • Have you noticed any patterns in terms of specific sites causing the crash?
    • Does Orion crash while idling or while you're actively browsing?
    • Are you able to get Orion to crash on a fresh profile?
    • Would it be possible to get a recording of Orion crashing (I am aware this is a tall order given the seemingly random nature of the crashes)?

      No, could be using it for an hour - would crash. Could be just starting Orion and then it would crash instantly.

      Yes, I am using extensions, but all of them are turned off except of Adblocker from Chrome Browser Extension market.

      No, no patterns at all. Had it once crash when I was using reddit, could crash also on home screen

      Depends. Can crash instantly on opening, can crash just after 10 minutes of me being away from my laptop

      Just got my macbook and one of the first things I installed is this browser, so I could say its a fresh profile. I have some few other apps installed like Little Snitch, that I thought could be affecting Orion, but with network filters turned off - it still can crash sometimes

      Video recording would be impossible as I am working on a ship right now with very limited satelite internet (2GB only), so I could record it but uploading it here would take ages/monthly salary of satelite internet cards 😄

          I can say that after update to the latest Orion version it stopped crashing that often, but still does, and it's kind of annoying when I am working on it and the browser suddenly crashes. I really like the browser and I already set it up for my work specific but with these crashes I would have to go back to safari 🥲

                Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions even when in a remote location.

                I apologize for any confusion but what was meant by "fresh profile" is creating a new profile on Orion via File -> Profiles -> New Profile, and seeing if you're able to cause Orion to crash. If not, make one change towards making the configuration of the newly created profile similar to the profile that is currently crashing. This could for example be installing an extension or changing something in the settings. Then attempt to cause Orion to crash, and repeat. This would be invaluable in helping the team narrow down what exactly is causing the crash. I would personally start with Adblocker from Chrome Browser Extension market and seeing where that takes us.

                        I have the same problem. It keeps crashing. It doesn't matter if I have a few tabs or heavy usage. I cannot pinpoint exactly what causes these crashes. Sometimes reloading a tab, sometimes simply bookmarking a page is enough for a crash.

                          Same here, couldn't find a clear culprit. I need to test with a fresh profile to see if this comes from an extension. Is there any logs I can check to see where the problem comes from? It happens randomly and sometimes right before that network stops working on the browser (as in, refreshing a tab just get stuck, new tabs wont open with the provided URL/search, etc).
