Tweak/Website Settings/Font size

I think that the tweaks and website settings should be all in one popup. They are doing the same thing, what is the decision that some choices go in one place and some in the other?

Font sizes show up in 4 places - tweak and buttons to increase/decreas website settings and URL for choosing from a selection.

There's three types of zooming in/out going on here.

Page

keyboard shortcut: cmd +/-
exists in the menu bar as View->Zoom In/Out
exists in website settings, as "Page Zoom"
shows in the URL bar when page zoom isn't your default
increases the size of everything in your browser window, text and UI elements
a technical description would be that it increases the CSS pixel size.

Text (from Page Tweaks)

only exists in the page tweaks page
only changes the font size, but may resize UI elements to fit the larger text
zoom is saved, and persists between switching tabs, etc

Text (from View->Make Text Bigger/Smaller)

keyboard shortcut: cmd option +/-
exists in the menu bar as View->Make Text Bigger/Smaller
only changes the font size, but may resize UI elements to fit the larger text
doesnt persist. is only saved temporarily for the active tab. loses the zoom upon switching tabs.

From a technical perspective, it makes sense to keep these separate, as Page settings are stuff controlled by the browser renderer, while page tweaks is CSS/JS (I think)

But from a user perspective, there is no clear differentiation, and it indeed does make sense for them to be combined into one popup.

@Erik for the text sizing - if they are two different types they should show differently to the user. they do the text size is letters and the page zoom is the number. However how would the user know it is different?

Does Using the Zoom Text stick for a page or do you have to do it each time?

I almost always want to zoom the text only and so rewrap the output. (A good point to Orion here is that this can be done, I was on Firefox for many years as only it gave the choice all others zoom the page, and I suspect that CSS handling has improved) - SO far I have been using the number but the sites I needed that for are mainly text,

The current UX for text zooming is pretty bad I do have to say. It's a feature that is really hidden and not well known. THere definitely need to be improvements to this.

Turns out that the page tweaks text zoom is different from View->Make Text Smaller

page tweaks zoom persists between changing tabs, reloads, and applies to all websites on the same domain.
OTOH, View->Make Text Smaller only applies temporarily, and it gets reset when you switch tabs. it also only applies to the current tab.

I believe only Safari offers zooming in the text.

No Firefox has the text only zoom as well. Not done in the same way

The Firefox view zoom menu has zoom in and out - but also has un the bottom a toggle;e Zoom Text Only.

As to the correct UX I have no real preference except consistency and optional persistence which Orion is not doing.

I have another issue asking for tweaks in dark./like mode to apply to domains and not just web sites - your comment sounds like zoom behaves differently.
