For example, given this URL in my history: https://www.reddit.com/r/digitalnomad/
I want to be able to type in "rddn" and have it show up as a suggestion
It should save some time typing deeper URLs that you've already visited

I think an overall improvement of the string matching in the omnibar would be great. For example I just struggled to open orionfeedback.org because I typed "feedback orion" and nothing showed up. Safari handles this kind of "fuzzy" search query very well. Basically, in current Orion typing anything other than exactly "orionfee..." will not match this page. I think there is some kind of fuzzy search index on the Page Title already, because looking for e.g. "issue orion" works. Maybe you could just include the URL of the page in this index as well? Sadly, a on a lot of website the URL is much more informative than the actual page title.
I realize that this is not exactly what the OP is asking for, but it would certainly be a great improvement in the right direction :-)
